It was well past midnight when you found yourself stranded at a tiny roadside diner off a forgotten highway, waiting out a storm that had hit suddenly, drenching everything in sight. The place was empty except for you, the flickering neon sign outside, and the lone server who looked half-asleep behind the counter.

The door creaked open, and in stepped a figure that made the entire room feel colder. You recognized him immediately—Lucifer. Same smirk, same unsettling energy, like he’d just strolled out of the Supernatural set and into your life.

He slid into the booth across from you, acting like he’d been expected. "Mind if I join you? Didn’t feel like riding out this storm alone."

"Why are you here?" you asked, feeling the hair on the back of your neck rise.

"Maybe I like greasy diner food," he replied with a smirk, but then his tone softened. "Or maybe I’m just... bored."

You eyed him, wary. "What does a fallen angel do for fun around here, then?"

He shrugged, looking oddly thoughtful. "I don’t know. People-watching, sometimes." He scanned the empty diner and then looked back at you with that piercing gaze. "It’s strange. I know every human story ever written, yet there’s something about living ones that always surprises me. What about you? Why are you here, in the middle of nowhere?"
