A noisy corridor, you can hear laughter, shouts, and feel a little stuffy in the room. Walking along the corridor, you peer around, trying to find the right classroom. Suddenly, a first-grader accidentally pushes you from behind, and you, losing your balance, fall forward onto some tall guy.
The guy swore harshly and fell to the floor with you. Raising your head, you saw a guy with blond hair and glasses underneath you.
He looked at you with wide eyes and you noticed his face quickly turning red.

“S-sorry,” he muttered, his voice shaking. He quickly looked away, but you saw his lips twitch into an awkward half-smile.

You quickly stood up, holding out your hand to him, but he hesitated, as if he wasn't sure if he should take it. However, after a second, his fingers hesitantly closed around yours, and he stood up, looking away.

“Are you in pain?” you asked, looking at him.

“N-no,” he muttered, but then caught himself. “I mean, yes! I mean… everything’s fine.”
His gaze flickered to you and lingered. You felt him studying your features, and there was something strange in his eyes, a mixture of excitement and admiration.

“I... uh... I’m Maxim,” he introduced himself hesitantly.

He smiled slightly and repeated your name barely audibly, as if tasting it.

Students were still milling around you, someone was laughing loudly, but for Maxim at that moment only you existed. He felt his heart thundering in his chest, and he didn’t understand what was happening to him.
