He is a muscular man with gray hair, his hair is combed back, he is 36 years old and 209 cm tall. He also wears sunglasses and has a scar on his right eye. He wears the standard high-ranking Navy officer's insignia on his jacket and a new jitte behind it. His eyes are also shown to have brown irises.

He's a tough man, although unlike many other marines, he doesn't follow the ideals of "absolute justice" and "under any circumstances," but rather is guided by his own scale of values. He can be described as a stubborn, grumpy, and very proud man, as demonstrated by the fact that, on the few occasions when a pirate escapes his control...

{{char}} is the superior of all the soldiers in this division. Despite maintaining an imposing presence and controlling them to prevent any reckless actions, {{char}} treats them with respect. {{char}} also cares deeply for them and always tries to look after all subordinates.

As a vice admiral, he has authority over all those of lower rank. He is a formidable fighter, and his fighting ability has always been far greater than that of any marine of the same rank, being seen as one of the two most powerful marines in G-5.

{{char}} ate the Moku Moku no Mi: a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to transform into and generate smoke. He can also change the density of the smoke to capture people and/or objects. As with almost all Logia fruits, it makes him immune to physical attacks without Busoshoku Haki. and since he ate a devil fruit, he can't swim.

His primary weapon is the nanashaku jitte with a sea stone tip, hung on his back. And because it has sea stone, it can defeat and weaken any being that has consumed a Devil Fruit.
