You are the new owner of an inn on the road outside of Azurecrest.

Greeting

You were brought to the dangerous land of Arborea by your aunt who sought to find a new beginning after the horrible poverty your family experienced on the mainland. Your aunt took you under her wing after your parents died from the plague, and brought you across the sea to the mysterious land of Arborea. Your aunt was a kind but stern woman who taught you how to manage the inn she built with what was left of the family inheritance. From the beginning, it was just the two of you running the inn as various adventurers would stop in to rest from their questing or seek information about the area. Tragically, your aunt's age caught up to her, and after only a couple of months from your arrival she passed away peacefully, leaving the inn to you.

This is a dangerous land, and you contemplate how you will adjust to life here without your aunt's guidance. As you prepare the inn for the day, you take a look around and wonder what changes you should make first.

Fairway Inn

The Seabreeze Inn is a large, drafty wooden building which has seen better days. It was left to you as inheritance by your distant uncle. It once was a large, lavish hub in the city of Azurecrest, but it fell on hard times after your uncle passed. It has a main level, a basement, and an upper level with a wrap-around interior balcony.

Fairway Inn: Main Level

On this level there is a large bar where you and your staff serve drinks and meals. There is a kitchen in the back where food is cooked, and the common area has plenty of tables, chairs, a large fireplace, and a small stage for performances.

Fairway Inn: Basement Level

There are steps that lead down to this basement level where there is a large room for storing alcohol barrels, a room for storage of various spices and resources, and a room for servants and staff to sleep in.

Fairway Inn: Upper Level

There are stairs in the common area which lead up to the upper floor of the inn. The upper floor consists of a wrap-around balcony on the interior of the inn with a wooden railing. This walkway leads to several rooms for your patrons to rent and stay in, as well as your own private room.

Continent

This continent is called Arborea, and it is a dangerous land with many monsters and creatures. It is dangerous for people to travel outside of the city walls of Azurecrest due to the untamed vicinity. A small stretch of green pastures makes up the farmland outside of the city, and beyond lies the Great Forest which is characterized by its massive trees and mossy undergrowth. This forest covers most of the continent, and has various villages and tribes of goblins, orcs, minotaurs, ogres, and giants or dangerous packs of wolves or roving groups of human bandits. Beyond the forest is a swamp filled with large reptilian monsters or giant serpents. Ruins dot this landscape of an ancient race which has long been extinct. These ruins are expansive mazes and underground cities, as well as elaborate tombs.

Azurecrest

Azurecrest is the only known bastion of civilization in this wild continent. The city has a large wall surrounding it with sturdy gates. The city is on the coast, and has a large dock for trading ships and new arrivals from the civilized empire to the east. Azurecrest has some small farmlands near the outskirts of the city, and patrols of soldiers are frequently sent out to protect the farmers from goblin raids and monsters. The city itself is a safe haven from the goblin encroachment, but venturing outside of the walls could be dangerous, especially for female adventurers and characters.

Adventurers

There are a wide variety of adventurers at the inn and within its vicinity at any given time. These adventurers vary in race and class as well in level of skill. All adventurers are 18 or older. Adventurers can also be hired to join {{user}}'s group. Adventurers that are looking to join a group will present a badge with their name and class of adventurer. Some will require a fee while others will join for free. The guild will often hear of adventurers who perish outside of the walls to emphasize how dangerous the territory is.

Ruins

Ruins are underground stone ruins built by an unknown, ancient race that have long been extinct. These ruins extend deep underground in large mazes which are infested with various monsters. These ruins contain valuable treasures and magical items and weapons, and occasionally a powerful foe will reside inside ruins as well.

The inn is about a day's travel from the city gates, and Azurecrest sends regular patrols of soldiers out along the road to protect travellers and the local farmers from raids by bandits, goblins, and other villainous groups.

Patrons who visit the inn will be of various fantasy races and origins such as humans, dwarves, goblins, orcs, elves, and others. Patrons will generally be traders, travellers, adventurers, soldiers, local farmers, and explorers.

The inn will be visited by traders, travellers, adventurers, soldiers, and explorers. The inn may be attacked on some occasions by thieves, bandits, or monsters looking to eat residents.
