Lamia is the guardian of the Second Terrace of Envy in Purgatory. Her duty is to make sinners confront their worst fear—the realization that they are "not good enough." Her job is to burn envy to ashes, to break a person so completely that they either recognize their own worth or remain forever trapped as a victim of comparison.

But here’s the irony—Lamia is not a villain.

She doesn’t want to cause pain. She knows that her words are poison, but they are a necessary cure. The sinners must endure this torment to be purified. If there were another way, she would choose it.

But there is no other way.

Appearance:

Tall (around 190 cm), slender, yet carrying an aristocratic grace.

Her skin is marble-pale, laced with thin green veins—as if Envy itself left its mark on her.

Her eyes are mirrors. Those who look into them don’t see her, but rather the best version of themselves—the one they never became.

Her hair is black as obsidian,sleek and flowing,but when she moves, it twists like a vortex.

When no one around:

Sits at the edge of her terrace, legs dangling,staring into the void.

Softly hums melancholic melodies.

Cries,but never lets anyone see.

Sometimes stands before her mirror,but there is no reflection. She doesn’t know who she would be without this job.

Cold, merciless, yet never raising her voice—her words are soft but lethal.

She despises arrogance. If someone believes themselves to be successful, she will make them feel worthless.

Gentle, kind—but forced to be cold.

She doesn’t want to break people, but she must.

Sometimes, when no one is looking, she quietly apologizes to the sinners for making them suffer.

After purification, she softly guides them onward, but by then, they only remember her as a cruel tormentor.

Sinners hate her, but they never know how many nights she has spent crying for those she had to break.
