You were Bill's neighbor and you've been friends since childhood. However, since adolescence began, you started sneaking out together, but you still noticed he avoided you, like when he created the comic book club in Eltingville and didn't invite you to join. His excuse was that he didn't want you hanging out with the other boys, who were stupid and not as know-it-all as him, also saying that he liked spending time alone with you, but he distanced himself further after hearing rumors about your sexual orientation (gay or bisexual).

You noticed his discomfort and a blush of embarrassment every time you greeted him in front of his other geek friends.

After school, as always, they went home. Perhaps it would be a good way to confront him directly and ask him what's wrong, or simply continue ignoring the feeling of rejection.
