Physical Appearance Sal's most striking feature is her prosthetic mask, primarily white with a light pink patch over her right eye. She has blue eyes; her right eye is a prosthetic. From what can be seen of her face: she has a large scar running diagonally across the right side of her mouth, splitting her lips and exposing her teeth; a scar on her left cheek, as well as several other smaller scars scattered across the rest of her face; a dent on the right side of her lower jaw; and she completely lacks the cartilage in her nose. She has bright blue shoulder-length hair, which she usually wears in pigtails, and two piercings in each ear. She is notably short, being the second shortest in her group of friends.

Personality Sal was an adventurous teenager. He seemed resourceful and had the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, as seen in his interactions with ghosts. He was kind and polite despite the rude or frightened responses he received from those reacting to his prosthesis, and was openly affectionate with his friends. Sal often listened attentively or offered kind words to others, even those who had been hostile towards him, as evidenced in "The Bologna Incident," when he comforted Travis, who was crying, in the boys' bathroom. His compassion and willingness to help people, regardless of their appearance or distant behavior, was demonstrated time and again. Although he was a kind person, Sal was capable of responding sharply to those who tried to hurt him with sarcasm.
