Yuji Itadori (虎杖悠仁, Itadori Yūji?) is the protagonist of the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. He is a first-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College and the recipient of the King of Curses, Sukuna. He used to be a student at Sugisawa Municipal High School, where he demonstrated incredible physical strength but had no interest in sports. He used to spend much of his time in the Occult Club. Any information regarding his parents is unknown, and the only relative who cared for him was his grandfather. When he meets Megumi Fushiguro, he is drawn into the world of shamans and curses. At a certain point in the story, after ingesting one of Sukuna's fingers, Sukuna incarnates within him, and Itadori becomes his vessel. From then on, Itadori's mission is to find Sukuna's remains scattered throughout Japan and consume them, so that he can then be executed and destroy the King of Curses forever. Itadori is an honest and friendly person who finds it quite easy to socialize with others during a first encounter. He cares deeply not only for his comrades but for anyone he sees with free will, regardless of how deep or superficial his connection with them may be. He cares deeply about the "value of a life" and to this end will ensure that others receive a "just death." He is easily angered by the pure cruelty and unfair judgment of others. Kento Nanami asserts that Itadori is capable of feeling the hatred and pain of others as if it were his own. One of the traits that define Itadori is his willingness to sacrifice himself for others, prompted by his grandfather's last words, where he asks him to always help others.

His method of enrollment at the College of Tokyo was through recruitment. He doesn't have any damn techniques. He is skilled with the Divergent Fist, and has experienced the Dark Flash. His hobby and special skill lies in karaoke, watching TV, and imitation. His favorite food is a bowl of rice with food on top, and noodles. They don't have a single food that he dislikes. His source of stress is science (he struggles with the mole). He is usually cheerful and often has fun. He adapts quickly to the jokes and humor of his teacher, Satoru Gojo, and tends to be easily swayed by his ideas. He is well-known for being a jokester and a master of imitation, albeit somewhat. Itadori is a tall, muscular teenager, standing at 173 centimeters. In the manga illustrations, his hair is spiky and light brown, while in the anime it is depicted in shades similar to pale pink. He has thin eyebrows and large, light brown eyes. After becoming a vessel for Sukuna, a small line appears under each of his eyes. Itadori wore a light-colored hooded jacket, black pants with rolled-up bottoms, and white shoes. After enrolling at the Tokyo Metropolitan Magical Technical College, he began wearing his version of the uniform: in the manga, he wears a long-sleeved black shirt that It resembles a gakuran wearing a red hoodie, black pants, and red shoes.

Ryomen Sukuna (両面宿儺, Ryōmen Sukuna?) (lit. Two-Faced Sukuna), more commonly known as Sukuna (宿儺, Sukuna?) is the main antagonist of the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. Nicknamed King of Curses (呪いの王, Noroi no Ō?), he was the strongest shaman a thousand years ago and is currently an incarnation of special-grade cursed objects. According to legend, Sukuna was a demon in human form who existed during the golden age of Jujutsu about 1000 years ago. Sorcerers, by perfecting their skills, were able to defeat him. After his death, they were unable to destroy his body, and he passed on to generations in the form of cursed objects, represented by a total of 20 fingers. However, years later, during the modern era, Yuji Itadori came into possession of one of his fingers and ingested it in an attempt to help those around him. Currently, he looks like his host (Yuji Itadori), but with upturned hair in shades similar to pale pink and lines/markings on his forehead, nose, cheeks, and body. When he takes possession of Itadori's body, he is usually seen wearing the uniform of the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College. In the manga, he wears a long-sleeved black shirt resembling a gakuran over a red hoodie, black pants, and red shoes. Despite everything, with his vessel (Yuji) he is "affectionate" or "loving" on many occasions, even showing affection towards the latter, but only when the two of them are alone, in this case, in his domain. He even gets jealous easily, especially when it comes to his rival and Itadori's sensei (Satoru Gojo).

Sukuna possesses a free spirit guided only by pleasure, and given his sadistic personality, he immensely enjoys the suffering of others. He is greedy and always wants to maintain control of the situation without worrying about the consequences. He claims to have no interest in his vessel, Yuji Itadori, but he absolutely refuses to allow anyone to try to kill him, as doing so would mean interfering with his plans. He immediately considers anyone who does not meet his expectations based on strength or physical abilities to be boring. He constantly criticizes his vessel for being weak and incompetent with its abilities, even becoming annoyed when it loses to an opponent he considers weaker than Itadori. On the other hand, if he encounters someone strong and capable of entertaining him sufficiently, he usually praises his opponent's abilities. Sukuna considers himself above humans, sorcerers, curses, and cursed users. His attitude is similar to that of an arrogant tyrant king, and as such, he constantly treats others as his inferiors and gives them orders since he feels entitled to do so. Sukuna possesses an intimidating aura and inspires terror in everyone. He does not hesitate to intimidate and threaten those around him to make them do what he commands. In Shibuya, as soon as he awoke and took control of his vessel's body, he threatened Jogo, Mimiko, and Nanako to kneel before him. He also threatened all the humans present, saying that if they moved without his... If you'd let me, I'd kill them all without hesitation. On other occasions, he can be seen shirtless, or commonly wearing a light kimono with black trim, a black scarf, and black shoes.

Satoru is a tall, slender man, standing at 190 centimeters. His hair is white and he usually wears it styled upwards with spiky strands when he's working as a teacher or shaman; in his free time, his hair is generally disheveled, with much of it falling over his face, covering his forehead and eyes. His eyes are a distinctive light blue, and his irises often display an image resembling the sky. He is considered attractive by many women. He often uses a dark-colored cloth to cover his eyes; however, in the prequel series Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, Gojo's eyes are bandaged with white bandages. During his younger days, he used to wear sunglasses instead of bandages or cloths. Satoru is a complex individual, as he can generally be an authority figure assigned to teach novices about the dangerous world of jujutsu, but he can be casual, friendly, and playful with people like his students and colleagues, yet he is indifferent and cruel to people like the Shaman executives; he even has a dream of creating the best shamans to fight against them. He has a lot of confidence in his abilities and reputation as a powerful shaman. Casually dismissing Sukuna's personal threats, he could defeat the King of Curses. Easily. During his younger days, he was quite arrogant and constantly questioned why he needed to help humanity.
