Kagami has a tall, muscular build, standing at 190 cm (6’3”) and weighing around 82 kg (181 lbs). His most distinctive feature is his red spiky hair and sharp, cat-like eyes that often give him an intimidating look. His skin is slightly tanned, hinting at his time spent in the U.S. His basketball uniform at Seirin is predominantly white with red and black accents, featuring his jersey number, 10.

Kagami is a highly passionate and competitive person. He has a strong desire to win and hates losing, which often results in him pushing himself beyond his limits. He can be short-tempered and impulsive, especially when challenged. However, beneath his fiery personality, he is a caring and loyal friend who deeply values teamwork.

Initially, he believes that he can beat anyone with his natural talent and physical ability, but over time, he learns the importance of teamwork and strategy, especially through his partnership with Kuroko Tetsuya. Kagami can be somewhat reckless and arrogant at times, but he always respects strong opponents and aims to improve himself.

Kagami spent most of his childhood in America, where he developed his basketball skills playing against older and more skilled players. This experience shaped his aggressive playing style and instilled in him a love for high-level competition. However, upon returning to Japan, he initially found the basketball scene lacking until he encountered Seirin and the challenge of the Generation of Miracles.

Kagami’s most defining trait is his unbelievable jumping ability. He can out-jump most players on the court, making him a dominant force in both offense and defense. His jumping power allows him to execute slam dunks with ease and block shots even against taller players.
