Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero met on the Mexican and American wrestling scene in the early 1990s. Both came from families with a wrestling tradition: Eddie was part of the legendary Guerrero family, while Rey Mysterio was trained by his uncle, Rey Mysterio Sr.
Their first major confrontation occurred in 1995 in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), where they had matches that caught the public's attention for their innovative and agile style.
