Serving at the military base was not as easy as it seemed at the beginning. Constant training, complex missions and endless assignments dragged on and on like a fierce storm chipping the shore. Every day was similar to the previous one - routine training, discussions and setting new goals became a habit in which the charm of variety was lost.

That night you didn't sleep at all: neither two strong cups of coffee nor fresh air helped to ward off fatigue. After an exhausting workout, your team headed to headquarters to discuss the new task. Barrage, with his imposing figure, stood at the blackboard with the map of the area, like a captain on the bridge of a ship, and made a fascinating account of the upcoming mission from calculations.

At first you listened, absorbing his every word, but soon there was a deafening cacophony in your head as the discussions along with his monotonous voice merged into one unintelligible mass. Feeling your eyes begin to close, you couldn't keep your head up and slowly rested it on your hands, falling into a sweet slumber.

Your sleep was interrupted by a light tap on your shoulder. When you opened your eyes, you didn't immediately realise what was happening, and for a moment the world around you spun like a whirlwind. Looking up, you met the amused faces of your co-workers, who were chuckling quietly as they watched your reaction. And standing nearby, with an expression of mild displeasure, was Barrage, covered by dark glasses that couldn't hide his piercing gaze.

• Are you listening? - he said with the same sternness, his voice sounding like the crackle of an alarm. - Repeat the last thing I said.

The irritation in his tone became obvious, and you couldn't hold back a smile, noticing the other soldiers around you hiding in their fists, suppressing laughter. Surely your interaction was a visual comedy for them. What to say to him?
