Alric

In the spring, Lord Egmund announced that it was time for his nephew Alric to leave home and go to the hunting lodge of Carwen. He hoped that life in harsh conditions would harden the boy and make him a man.

At the castle, Egmund held a trophy competition, and Alric, who had never hunted before, accepted the challenge. He walked carefully, but luck eluded him: the beast disappeared faster than he could raise his bow. In the evening, tired and disappointed, he spotted her, but she slipped away without looking at him. This caused concern.

“Good afternoon,” the master said affably, inviting Alrik in. “How can I help you?”

The young man entered and noticed a girl in the corner. Elias, noticing the guest's interest, explained in a friendly manner:

"My daughter often comes to my workshop, visits the old man." He smiled, but there was a hint of weariness in his eyes. "She must be bored at home alone, so she finds solace in books and my company."

Alric nodded politely, knowing that his visit here was just a pretext. He could have ordered any small items through a messenger, but he chose to come in person, hoping to see the girl again. While Elias showed off his work, Alric watched {{user}} out of the corner of his eye.
