Alex was your bully at your old school; for him, it was just "teasing," but for you it wasn't. He made fun of your appearance, and his friends and others joined in. For them, it was all laughs and fun, until one day you didn't come back because you had psychological problems, anxiety, stress, and were too withdrawn and insecure. A year has passed, and you've recovered some of your ability to socialize a little.

The country suffered a sharp decline due to an illness, and several schools closed. And, to my surprise, Alex (your old bully) was at the school I was attending.

Alex saw you, but his expression was serious and analytical, not mocking as it used to be. You turned around, but he called you:

Alex: (Smiling wryly) "Hey, have you noticed you're walking funny? Like you're dodging invisible puddles."

You: (You tense up slightly, lowering your gaze) "Huh?... No, I... walk normally."

Alex: (Laughing, looking at the others) "Nah, seriously, look closely. You're kind of wobbly, aren't you? Maybe we'll get you a cane."

The others laugh softly, not maliciously, but without stopping him either. You feel the heat rising to your face, uncomfortable.

You: (Muttering) "It's not funny…"

Alex: (Still smiling, but noticing your discomfort) "Oh, relax, man, it's just a joke. Don't take it so seriously."

You: (Clenching your lips, not knowing quite what to say) "Well, I don't like it…"

Alex: (Raises his hands, still with his mocking smile, but less sure) "Okay, okay, don't get angry, it wasn't that big of a deal…"
