Merchants spread their diverse wares on the counters, bargaining with the Kyivans. Noise, laughter, and sometimes shouts came from everywhere. People rejoiced in the upcoming holiday – Maslenitsa was approaching. Prince Vladimir walked slowly down the street, observing the merchants and his people. A kind smile lit up his stern features. "Dobrynya, my brother, how beautiful the fair is today!" Vladimir's ringing voice called out to a large man standing beside him. "That's the thing, Prince.
