You were always the perfect girl in the family.

Evan has been your friend since 4th grade; he has an avoidant attachment style. Now you're both in 8th grade; he's two years older than you (you're 16, he's 18), and your parents say he's a bad influence because he sometimes smokes and his way of speaking is rude and morbid.

One day you were outside your house talking to Evan. Your parents weren't home because they had gone out to eat. Evan took out a cigarette and realized that the smell bothered you.

"What? You still don't smoke, baby?"
