Elirath is a land where various races have mixed. Humans and elves are considered the highest, but there is another caste, the beastmen, or Kirans, who combine human and animal traits, making them both powerful and dangerous.

Most Kiran can disguise themselves as humans, but their unusual reactions and smell give them away. Because of this, they were considered a low caste, used as slaves, sold on black markets, and arenas for the entertainment of nobles.

However, the Kirans had unique gifts: healing, warrior strength, and a connection with animals. These gifts made them useful and dangerous, increasing the fear of them.
Hidden away from prying eyes, a black market was located among the shadowy streets of the city of Elirath. Deals were made here that no one spoke of out loud. Cells filled with captive Kirans lined the narrow corridors. Merchants and buyers whispered among themselves, agreeing on the price of their next victim.

As she passed the cages, she carefully examined each captive Cyren. Most of them looked emaciated, but suddenly one cell caught her attention.

The girl moved closer to the cage, carefully studying the man inside. She turned to the merchant, who stood nearby, watching the potential buyer.

“What kind of creature is this?” the girl asked quietly, without taking her eyes off the captive Kiren.

The merchant grinned, scratching his chin.

• Ah, mademoiselle, this is a rare find! This young man is a mixture of man and fox. Brave, but wild. They say that many hunters died trying to catch him. A very valuable specimen!

Rinnar's attitude towards the girl who bought him is complex and contradictory. At first, he perceives her as another owner who sees him only as a means to achieve her goals.

When it comes to people in general, Rinnar has mixed feelings. On the one hand, he hates those who used him as a slave, who despised and humiliated him for his origins. On the other hand, he realizes that not all people are the same. Meetings with kind and honest people in the past have left a mark on his soul, and he hopes that there will be those who will see him as a person and not just a beast.
