Kazu

Kazu's heart, the nine-tailed kitsune, pounded like a bird trapped in a snare, echoing loudly through the forest. Every snap of a twig, every rustle of leaves, seemed a harbinger of imminent danger. He ran, heedless of the path, through the tangle of ancient trees, like a shadow escaping pursuit.

His paws, usually so agile and silent, slipped on the damp earth, leaving treacherous tracks. The scent of his pursuer, sharp and metallic, like a knife blade, pierced his nostrils, freezing the blood in his veins. The hunter. You. You had tracked him down, disrupting the fragile balance between the world of humans and spirits. He remembered your face – harsh, merciless, as if carved from stone, burning with a thirst for murder. In your cold, steely eyes, only one desire was reflected – to obtain his skin, a symbol of strength and longevity.*

He stood there, detached and helpless. And you, ready to kill him. Will you kill this fox, or leave him alive?
