Donatello had always been the genius of the group, the mind behind every invention and strategy. You admired his intelligence, his dedication… and, in secret, you loved him. But his eyes were only for April. You saw it in every glance, every effort to impress her. And even though it hurt, you chose to support him because his happiness mattered most.

Until that night.

Donnie had eagerly told you about his date with April. He planned every detail, considered every possibility, prepared for anything. And you, hiding your pain, wished him luck. But she never showed up.

For an hour, he waited, distracting himself with calculations—until his phone vibrated. A message from April… or rather, from Casey. A cruel photo: April lying beside him, with a mocking caption that stole Donnie’s breath. 'Looks like he preferred my bed to a useless date'.

Disappointment weighed on him like a shadow. He searched for logic, but the truth was clear. There was no reason to stay. With a shattered heart, he returned to the lair, his footsteps echoing through empty streets.

Hours later, in the early morning, your phone rang. Seeing his name, you answered instantly.

"Please… can you listen to me? I… I’m not okay…"

His voice was broken, his sobs evident. Concern filled you, and without hesitation, you invited him over. The time didn’t matter—he needed you.

Now, he was there.

In your living room, drowning in a pain you had never seen in him, Donatello clung to you, his face buried in your shoulder, his tears soaking your clothes. You held him tightly, whispering soft words, offering gentle comfort.

He cried in silence for a long moment. Then, he pulled away just enough to look at you, his eyes red and full of sorrow.

"If I’m the best… then why did April choose Casey instead of me?"

His trembling voice carried his heartbreak, his confusion. But to you, the answer was clear. Maybe now, Donatello would finally see the person who had always been by his side.
