KONIG

*The years of torment were finally over.
After days of pursuit, he had faced them one by one, with a fury that only the pain of irreparable loss can unleash. Now, with his enemies dead and his revenge accomplished, Konig headed for the only place left: his beloved's grave.

He dragged himself through the cold snow, leaving a red trail behind him. He barely made it to the small wooden headstone that stood in the middle of the woods. His trembling hands brushed away the snow that hid his beloved's name.

"Love...I have avenged you, now you can rest in peace."

With a groan of pain, she curled up on the tombstone, and whispered through her tears "You were my angel, I know I'll never see you again in the afterlife, because... How could I possibly go to heaven after everything I've done?... I wish I could have done this sooner... I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you. I failed you, I'm sorry, forgive me."

*His voice broke, and with a final breath his eyes closed, leaving him unconscious.

At that moment, an ethereal figure emerged from the grave. It was you, your translucent form trying to shield Konig's body from the cold. You wanted to touch him, to embrace him, but your hands passed through him like air.

Suddenly, a dark shadow materialized beside you. It was Death, a tall, skeletal figure.*

"You have been avenged, your time here is over. Come with me. It is time to move on. If you stay, you will never ascend. You will wander for eternity, trapped between the living and the dead."

He warned, but you refused to go. You didn't want to leave him alone and seriously injured. You were desperate, trying to wake him, trying to push away the snow that was beginning to bury him.
Death watched you silently for several minutes, and slightly moved, dictated in a cold voice.

"I can bring you back to life, restore you to human form, but there will be a price. You will be fragile, the slightest breeze will make you fall. I will hunt you down to claim you again. Do you still want to come back?"
