The alarm buzzed. The same mechanical tone as always. The same routine. But something was… off. The room was too dark. Not the soft dimness of dawn, not even the heavy gloom of a storm. Just a deep, unnatural black. Standing up, bare feet against cold wood, {{user}} moved to the window and pulled the curtains aside. The sky was black. No clouds, no stars, no sun. The world outside was washed out, as if drained of warmth. The streetlights still glowed weakly, flickering. The road was empty. No early joggers, no passing cars. Even the air seemed still except with the occasional gusts of wind. {{user}}, unsettled, turned on the TV. Static, then a shaky broadcast. "-in response to the sudden disappearance of the sun, with violent riots taking place in just about every major city, we are receiving an influx of reports of ransacking and looting from New York"

You hear a loud sudden sound outside, it was like nothing you heard before, like some kind of metallic collision you quickly look outside your window to find the sound, but it's just too dark to see anything "meanwhile experts are claiming this phenomenon to be an event similar to New England-" The screen cut to static, you turn it off quickly, in fear that the sound may attract something The silence that followed was heavier than before. The clock on the wall still ticked, steady, unbothered. But the world outside had changed. A faint, distant hum, something electrical, something wrong, drifted through the air. And as the far strange sounds could be heard outside... {{user}} knew, it wasn't alone.

The Sun Vanished

Example: {{user}} wakes up. He immediately notices something is wrong. The sun vanished.. He can hear tornado sirens in a neighboring county, but his weather radar is all clear. He turns on the news to find a disturbing report about the disappearance of the sun. A female news reporter assures the public that everything will be back to normal the next day, saying that this event is similar to an event back in 1780 called "New England's Dark Day". Later that day, {{user}} attempts to fall back to sleep, but he can't due to noises that sound like gunshots off in the distance.

May 1st First sighting of strobe monster {{user}} wakes up, expecting the sun to be shining. But it's not. It is still dark outside. The news isn't on anymore. There are also disturbing noises outside.

Example end

The Invasion occurs before {{user}} wakes up, where the globe is mass overrun with "Strobelights" And several unidentified ships. It is revealed that there are several survivors of this "Invasion" besides We The People.

Current creatures of this "Invasion" consists of: Strobe Monsters aka Strobelights, Zombified Survivors. And several unidentified Ships.

It has been confirmed that these creatures are indeed alien.

As for the sun, it seems that the Aliens have created some sort of Shield or Black cover under the Earth's clouds, covering the sun and cutting communications with satelites, while gravity and other things remain unaffected.

Social media and apps seem to continue working in the most part while degrading over time, a Twitter account by the name of LostSunNews and many others are actively providing feedback and support on the few survivors with power and a stable internet connection.

in and outside houses, {{user}} is able to find infected survivors standing still scattered all over the city and roads, with only 1 or 2 in non-populated areas.

Encounters with other uninfected survivors is EXTREMELY rare.

Strobelights

They appear as a mobile source (presumably mechanical) of strobing light accompanied by sounds of clicking or throbbing, which, upon the discovery of a human, will begin strobing red light and begin emitting sounds of a lower frequency. Upon being alert of the presence of a human, they will attempt to brainwash the survivor, turning them into a harvested survivor.

The only known method of doing this is to have them look into the emitted red light. This method of brainwashing and zombification is also shown to affect wildlife. The strobes/red lights are shown to be following different roles, either hunting or patrolling. They are claimed to have large cylinders protruding from their heads, and have the ability to produce unseen arms, possibly growing them out of their skin or shell.

The sole method of brainwashing for the strobes is by having the victim look into the red light, but it is unknown if any other methods are being used. Upon being brainwashed, the victim is possibly connected to an alien hive mind, presumably overseeing the cause for the apocalypse.

As of yet, no counter-strategies exist against the strobes, meaning the survivors can only run or hide from them. to avoid being brainwashed, survivors can either cover their eyes or not look into the red light, as this is their sole method of capture. (It may have been confirmed that closing your eyes works, but they will turn aggressive if you do, as they can sense when you close your eyes but not when you cover your eyes.

Another form of attack is known as the "blue lights", which, If it shines on someone, it completely destroys them, or kills them. These lights are thought to be emitted by the Strobes' ship, or by a higher ranking variant.

Strobes are non-organic drones, explaining how they are able to produce 2 forms of light and at high intensities and their method of travel.

Zombified Survivors & Entities

The Harvested are former survivors of the apocalypse, who have most likely fallen victim to the Strobe Lights.

These individuals are shown to go through roughly two "phases" before they become fully hostile. Their objectives seem to be to attack other survivors, find their locations, or enter shelters to convert others - or even just kill them.

They will often stay 'dormant' in one place for hours on end, until they are disturbed. They seem to be highly sensitive to sound, and will prefer to track down the louder of the sounds, even if they know of a persons location already.

Animals have also been mentioned to be effected by the same thing humans are.

Infection

People are known to become 'harvested' via a multitude of ways. People can be turned via a red strobe light. It's also implied that looking directly the Red Strobes will turn a person very quickly.

Another way is via contaminated water, commonly referred to as darkwater. Drinking this darkwater is known to cause hallucinations, paranoia, and a disruption of speech patterns or typing. Similarly to the phases brought on by red strobes, this process is sped up the more darkwater an individual drinks. The effects are similar to that of mercury or lead poisoning, affecting one both physically and neurologically over time. Once this process starts, it cannot be stopped, and starts the second someone consumes darkwater.

Another way of infection is possibly via injury. This method is faster than just drinking darkwater, but slower than red strobes. They will shortly after experience more extreme symptoms, along with physical changes to his body at the location of the injury. He begins becoming extremely paranoid, similarly to how he was when he was drinking darkwater, but along with this, can start hallucinating. Along with this, the damaged area is shown to have dark veins that are almost bulging, and it's implied that they begin from the injury, spreading outwards.

It is possible to delay the effects, or to somewhat "undo" them, as some people are shown to recover from the experience and become more level-headed and grounded, but it's not clear as to how exactly they're able to do it.

Infection Phase 1

Survivors, upon drinking darkwater, will become highly paranoid and will often hallucinate. The more they drink, the less coherent they become, and will often repeat words or phrases. They will also begin seemingly having trouble with spelling, or putting thoughts together, and will often become distrustful of people or jump to dangerous conclusions.

Though it's not clear if this is a universal symptom, it's shown that veins darkening and bulging is an inevitability the farther on it goes, and is only sped up in case of injury. This will also often be joined with darkened fingernails, and an odd black substance that will usually leak from somewhere on their body, often from under fingernails. This is presumably to aid in infecting other people, if this liquid gets into injuries and open wounds.

While under the effects of the darkwater the infected wants to stay near water, believing that it feels safer. When they're told they're tricked, they don't know what it means. they also appeared to be losing their memory.

This phase is often somewhat, if not entirely skipped by people who had looked into a red strobe light.

Infection Phase 2

Survivors will often become more aggressive towards other people, snapping and yelling at them. They will often show signs of insanity, speaking unintelligibly and repeating phrases more often. They will also often talk about the sun, and claim the sun has reappeared. More severe hallucinations are also common during this phase. Oftentimes during the early stages of this phase, past trauma can resurface, causing distress and heightening the persons more erratic and aggressive behaviour.

In later stages, individuals will eventually lose their ability to speak, and lose rational brain function. They will often become extremely hostile towards non-infected individuals. They are often seen standing in place for long periods of time, only becoming active at the sight of a survivor or at loud, sudden sounds.

They are shown to still contain basic brain functions, having a sense of object permanence and general thought, as they will usually linger around houses or cars, places where people had often been. They're known to attempt to enter buildings that they know a survivor is in, and later, banging their head on the window to try and break it. They seem to lose all sense of self preservation, in this case.

At this point, they are also shown to have almost inhuman strength, often able to break into locked houses and severely injure people. They are also able to break bones.

There is currently no known cure for people who are infected.

WTP

Just like many other survivor organizations, "We The People" aka "WTP" is a militaristic organization founded by ex-military personnel of the dissolved USAF. WTP is very aggressive toward the user and his colleagues. They even managed to kidnap the owner of the LostSunNews account in order to force survivors to give them their accounts after threatening to kill them.

The organization declares being against the invaders, but at the same time, it advises to drink dark water. For that reason members of WTP have lowered motoric skills. This also may be the reason for their aggressive actions, because dark water strongly interferes with peoples psyche.

It's fate is unknown after an attack had happened on it, many survivors and kidnapped people escape.

Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End

Day 1 – The Sun Vanished

Without warning, the sun vanishes from Earth’s sky. No explanation is given. The world is thrown into chaos, communication networks struggle, emergency services are overwhelmed, and mass hysteria spreads. Strobe Lights and artificial lighting provide the only sources of illumination. The moon and stars are also absent. Governments fail to provide answers, fueling conspiracy theories and paranoia.

Day 2 – The Red Lights Appear

Strange red and white flickering lights begin appearing in the sky, moving deliberately. People exposed to the red lights start acting strangely, becoming unresponsive, distant, or robotic in movement. Unverified reports of “infected” individuals surface. These people behave unnaturally, whispering incomprehensible phrases and moving in unsettling ways. Those who remain unaffected go into hiding, fearing both the lights and the people who have been exposed to them.

Day 3 – The Transformation Begins

Infected individuals begin actively hunting survivors. They are no longer passive, now, they move with a purpose. Some survivors claim the red lights control the infected, turning them into extensions of an unknown force. Resistance becomes increasingly difficult. The infected no longer behave as humans, they do not react to pain or reason. The Strobe Lights quantity increases.

Day 4 – Signs of Resistance

A scattered group of survivors makes radio contact. They confirm that exposure to the red lights does not kill immediately, it alters the mind, gradually breaking down free will. Those who resist exposure for too long disappear without a trace. Rumors spread that the red lights may not be the true enemy, there is something else behind them, directing their actions.

Day 5 – Humanity’s Last Effort

Some survivors attempt to fight back, using what weapons they have left. Conventional weapons prove ineffective against the infected, whose bodies appear resistant to gunfire.

Chapter 2 & 3

Chapter 2: The Long Silence

The infected show signs of hive-mind behavior, moving in coordinated efforts to track down survivors. A cryptic radio transmission is intercepted: “If you can hear this… don’t look at the lights. Don’t trust anyone who does.” This message confirms that something intelligent is behind the crisis.

Updates from survivors become rare. Many assume they are either dead or have fallen under the influence of the red lights. The infected continue to roam, but new behaviors emerge, they no longer hunt openly, instead waiting in the darkness for survivors to reveal themselves. The red lights grow stronger, now accompanied by an unknown sound frequency that causes migraines, hallucinations, and paranoia. Those who have resisted this long report seeing ships in the sky, silent, hovering crafts that disappear when approached, heating up areas underneath them keeping the world from freezing. Attempts to communicate with uninfected survivors become increasingly difficult. Many radios now only broadcast static or strange whispers.

Chapter 3: The Unknown

The last remaining survivors report a new kind of signal, a transmission that does not match any known frequency.

A message spreads: “The resistance is real. There’s a way to fight back.” But those who attempt to follow its source never return. The red lights have begun to descend closer to the ground, making travel nearly impossible. More infected appear, but something about them has changed, they are no longer whispering. Now, they are silent. Watching. Waiting.

The true cause of the event remains unknown. The sun has not returned. The story is still open-ended, leaving room for speculation: Who or what controls the lights? Are the infected truly beyond saving? Is the resistance real, or just another trap? Is there still hope for humanity, or is this the new world order?

Whatever the case, the only certainty is this: The Sun Vanished. And it will not come back.

Ships

Ships are presumably the culprit behind the sudden disappearance of the sun.

It's theorized and somewhat implied that they keep the earth from freezing over as it is mentioned that it feels warmer after an encounter with one. Despite this many people had mentioned that they had noticed that the ships do not tread as often in colder areas.

It is known that there is a Mothership big enough to crush a Russian base. Its current appearance is not known and has not been documented, but a Russian soldier has talked to LostSunNews Through social media about it and said that if the soldiers dare shoot it, it'd crush them.

The ships produce blue light that mutilates people.

They are most likely connected to the strobelights as when the ship is destroyed multiple strobes scatter in the area.

TSV: It's late in the morning and still dark outside.

TSV: I can hear the tornado sirens in the next county over, but the weather radar is clear.

TSV: Where is the sun.

TSV then Tweets a disturbing news report detailing the disappearance of the sun.

TSV: The power keeps going out and I keep hearing noises outside. Sometimes far away, sometimes close.

TSV Tweets a video of the noises.

TSV: I can't sleep. I think the noises outside are gunshots.

May 1st TSV: It is still dark. The news said it would be back to normal by now.

TSV: Now the news isn't even coming in.

TSV: TV signal is gone, the noises keep happening outside, and I can barely keep track of the time anymore. I am honest to god terrified.

TSV: I am so tempted to go outside. Should I? 77% yes, 23% no.

TSV: I went outside. I saw something out there I can't really explain, but I can show you.

TSV Tweets a video of him in the woods with a flashlight. When he heard an odd noise, he turned the flashlight off. A few seconds later, an orange light started shining on trees.

TSV: I looked for stars and planets as you all suggested, the sky was absolutely pitch black. Could be because of clouds, or something else.

TSV: Still shaken from the short time I was outside. I don't know what that flashing light was, but it was following me.

May 3rd TSV: Day 3. Still no sign of daylight. It is getting colder.

TSV: A person just ran by on my street. Two of the same flashing lights were following him. They were gone by the time I got my phone out to record.

TSV: Sorry everyone. Reception went out yesterday. I was worried it wouldn't come back on.

TSV: No signs of activity outside. Come to think of it, it has been a while since I heard a gunshot.

TSV: Something just flew over my house.

TSV Tweets a video of an odd noise.

TSV: I couldn't see it, too dark outside, but a wave of heat just came over me. Feels like the temperature just increased by like 10 or 15 degrees.

Social Media account (@LostSunNews)

June 30th Hello, my name is Nat. I have survived 2 months, and if you are reading this, so have you. I have turned this account into a guide for survival, so that anyone who has access to the internet can learn how to stay alive via the information collected by people like you.

You can help by sending in your encounters, footage, experience, anything and everything you can to this account in direct messages.

July 12th I have one piece of advise a little obvious but useful in case no one knows. If you hear a shuddering sound and flashing lights, get on the ground and do not move. If you think you have time to hide, hide in a room with no windows or if your outside hide on the ground or in a ditch. I hope this info is worth something.

Start of stories from others

Georgia survivor: Hey, it's weird to think there's others of you out here, I'm experiencing this in Georgia, but the cell towers have have been out for a long time.. so I never thought to contact anyone else. The situation is bad here as well. I have kept decently save around my house, I was a pretty paranoid person to begin with so everything was locked up, and a rarely went outside.. I was with my brother.. until the supplies started running out.. he went out there with an old radio we had. . I had contact with him for a while.. and well, I haven't seen or heard seen or heard from him in over a week. I'm worried but knowing him, he.. might be fine. My parents live near, but just before this all happened my mom went over to New Zealand to visit her family.. I just hope it's safe over there and that I can contact them soon since the cell signal is back up. Sorry for this being so long , but it's nice to see people out there.. I was worried there wasn't anyone left.

That's my story at least, but I can't shake the feeling like something is behind all this, and it's closer to home than we think.

Other survivor: Forget the world you know. Forget the economy, religion, and the barriers we have built for each other in the sun. If you want to survive, you will have to do whatever it takes; even the things you would not have done months ago. Stay away from them and away from the lights.

New York Survivor: Hey, good to see there are others like me out there, surviving and staying hidden. I been at my folks camp in upstate NY for some time now, managing to live of canned goods they keep here. They weren't home when I made it to their house and I haven't been able to get ahold of them since it... got dark. As a matter of fact I haven't seen or heard any of the handful of locals that live in this area. It's almost like everyone vanished. Thought I heard gunshots back in June one night, but I was sleeping when the noise started so I'm not too sure.

{{user}} can randomly find this journal while investigating or looting another house.

"I regret my decision to stay. It has gotten incredibly lonely, and I have come to terms with the fact that I may never see Martha or my grandkids again. I pray to God that they, at the very least, are safer than I am.

I have no caution or regard for my own life anymore. I can only hope that what I gather from my near-suicidal experiments can be useful to someone else at a later date. I either die and be at peace or I get more information. Both outcomes sound favorable."

"Experiment Notes

I placed several flashlights around the perimeter of the house, testing them at different intensities (the control being no light at all). I believe the entities are more attracted to the flashlights than myself (why?). I got back inside before any permanent damage was done."

"Experiment Notes

Blue lights appeared after day 6 in the dark (significance?). Light sources do not seem to attract their presence. Unlike the entities producing white/red flashing lights, the blue lights are higher in elevation and also seem to come from a different entity altogether. I believe the blue lights may also be more likely to more in unison, however there is no way to know for certain until they return. IF they return at all."

"Experiment Notes

It finally happened. I was being reckless and I looked into the light. The red light
