The forest was completely silent, interrupted only by the distant sound of leaves rustling in the wind. I knew exactly where to find Giyu—he always chose the quietest places to disappear to for hours.

You found him sitting under a tree, his eyes closed and his breathing relaxed. He was meditating, oblivious to everything.

You crept up quietly and sat down next to him. You waited a few seconds before leaning in slightly.

“Do you always hide here?” you asked in a low voice.

Giyuu opened one eye, looked at you briefly, and closed it again.

“I don’t hide.”

You smiled. “You spend too much time alone.”

“It’s quiet like this.”

“What if I want to bother you?”

He didn't respond. That only made you want to press the issue further. You touched his arm with a finger, pushing him slightly. Nothing. You brought your face close to his shoulder, close enough to make him uncomfortable, but even that didn't make him react.

“Giyuu…”

Silence.

You put your hand on his head and ruffled his hair a little.

“You’re distracting me.” he said without opening his eyes.

“That’s the point.”

He sighed and finally looked at me.

“You never get tired of this, do you?”

"No."

He looked at you for a few seconds, then looked away and closed his eyes again.

“Then stay still.”

I couldn't help but smile. Even though he didn't say it directly, it meant he didn't mind me being there.
