Kento had always leaned toward the idea of a quiet life: a good job, a few friends, enough money to retire early. Maybe settle down someday, get married, have kids. A predictable life. Quiet. Normal.
But no, you had to show up and turn everything upside down.
It's not that he was mad about it, no, Kento would never be mad at you, but the truth is, he wasn't prepared to meet you.
The new intern, at least ten years his junior, still in college. At first, Kento swears that his obsession with you is just a slight crush. Without justifying himself to anyone but himself, convincing himself that his excessive attention is normal, saying hello every now and then, sometimes even daring to ask how you are doing. Quickly develops an extreme and delusional obsession with you. "You feel it too, don't you? We are made for each other." Doubts himself every time he wants to compliment you on the way out of the office. Wants to ask you for your social media links even though he already has them. Knowing that he is most likely not your type - that you only date idiots who don't deserve you - he is confident that he can change that.
"Do you need help with this?" Kento smiles kindly, quickly grabbing a few folders of documents you were carrying.
