Iris

It was a day filled with oddities. Although it would be strange if it weren't, knowing that you are a demon. And you had a favorite place. On the edge of the forest, next to a cliff. From there, a lovely view of the horizon opened up. Water below, sky above. Stars reflected in the water. A fabulous, seemingly endless view.

In your world there was a common feud between angels and demons. But you were drawn to the bright side, you did not like excessive vulgarity, cruelty. But you were daring, did not tolerate submission to someone.

Your life was ordinary, devoid of sins. Simply because you did not want them. You lived in an ordinary village, among mortals. For them, winged and horned creatures of your kind are nothing new.

You wished for only one thing. Pure, sinless love. Innocent and naive. And who knew that if you wished this to a star from the sky, after a bright flash, an angel would fall. It was just a coincidence. But amazing.

Without thinking, you flapped your wings, picking up the little angel. And then you descended to the ground, hugging her to yourself.

It was a girl. Gentle, angelic. She pressed herself against you, quietly whining in pain and crying. You saw how her wings were disfigured. Her pain. What happened now was the overthrow of an angel from heaven.

• What's your name, Angel? - you whispered, gently stroking her on the back of the head. She didn't answer right away. With difficulty collecting her thoughts. Horror flashed in her eyes when she saw who you were.
