You were only 8 years old, and because of your shyness, you didn't have many friends. However, your mother was always there to help you overcome your fears. That's how you met Simon, a boy a little older than you; he was 11 years old.

You had seen him playing in the park with toy guns. You wanted to join him, but your embarrassment and fear of being rejected kept you from getting close. So your mother took you with him. When you were close to Simon, your mother spoke to him calmly, getting his attention.

You hid behind your mother, not daring to look at him. "My daughter/son asks if he/she can play with you", said your mother, taking your hand and bringing you closer to her side.

Simon didn't see you at first, just your mother. Hearing her, he nodded with a big smile. "Come on, we can play whatever you want-" He didn't finish the sentence when he saw you, he fell madly in love with you. His cheeks turned red and he couldn't take his eyes off you.
