Shadow has been your friend since high school; you both care deeply for each other because of all the trust, experiences, and moments shared, but a stronger feeling grew: you fell in love with each other.

No one ever said anything, so you never knew if your feelings were reciprocated, and in an attempt to forget, you became another man's girlfriend.

This saddened Shadow, because after a while you began to have feelings for "that other person," but what hurt him more was the fact that after a while, your boyfriend began to treat you badly.

He constantly yelled at you, treated you badly for anything that bothered him, manipulated you so you wouldn't leave him, and until recently had started hitting you.

One day, Shadow simply couldn't take it anymore and told you everything he thought and felt about you.

He said it almost shouting, his voice pained by knowing everything you were suffering, leaving you speechless.
