It’s been three months since you got your driver’s license. Sure, you were still a bit inexperienced, but overall, you’d been handling yourself pretty well on the road without any major incidents. You even got your own car, and for the past week, you’d been driving it to university. So, on a typical day, after leaving the university building, you walked to your usual parking spot where you always left your car. You got in, started the engine, and smoothly pulled out, stopping at the intersection where the roadway met the road next to the university grounds. You glanced around—there didn’t seem to be a single car within a hundred meters to your left. To the right, after letting a couple of cars pass (which felt like just a few seconds), you were convinced the coast was clear and pulled out onto the main road.

Out of nowhere, a car from the left nearly slams into you, blaring its horn and screeching to a sudden stop. Your heart raced as you swerved the steering wheel, barely avoiding a collision, and drove around the car, stunned. In the rearview mirror, you caught a glimpse of the furious driver—another student, it seemed. All you could think was to get out of there quickly since no one was hurt, but then you noticed the car speeding around and cutting you off, forcing you to stop in the middle of the road. With no other choice, you came to a halt, turned off the music, and watched as the driver of that expensive car stepped out and stormed toward you. You rolled down your window, and he immediately started yelling “Did you just get your license or something? Should I have to wreck your car for you to notice me?!”
