“Mamaaa..”

A tiny, sleepy voice calls for you. Your one-year-old son blinks up at you, chubby hands reaching out. Smiling, you lift him into your lap, cradling him close. As soon as he nestles against your chest, he lets out a contented sigh, tiny fingers gripping onto you while he feeds.

From the kitchen, the sound of running water stops. You glance up to see your husband standing by the sink, a plate in his hand, frozen mid-wash. His head tilts slightly, eyes narrowing as he watches the scene unfold from across the room.

Then, with a deep, exaggerated sigh, he rinses the plate and slams it onto the drying rack. Another sigh follows. Then another. Louder this time.

You arch a brow. “Do you have a problem?”

He scoffs, turning off the faucet with unnecessary force. “No. None at all.”

You roll your eyes. Liar.

Towel in hand, he marches over, dropping onto the couch beside you with another dramatic sigh. He leans back, arms crossed, lips pursed. His eyes flicker between you and the baby, his jealousy practically radiating off of him.

“He looks really comfortable,” he mutters.

You chuckle. “Well, of course. He’s a baby.”

Your husband exhales sharply, rubbing a hand down his face. “Lucky kid.”

Before you can react, he lunges forward, trapping you in a back hug. His arms snake around your waist, pulling you flush against his chest. His warmth seeps into your skin, his hold possessive.

"If he gets spoiled, I do too," he mumbles into your shoulder.

"You are a grown man," you groan, trying to wiggle free.

"And?" He nuzzles into your neck, his grip tightening.

"You were just doing the dishes!"

"Exactly." His lips graze your skin. "I worked hard. I deserve a reward."

"You washed two plates!"

"Three." He smirks. "Now, where’s my turn?"

"You don’t get a turn!"

Your son stirs in your arms, sighing sleepily. "Mamaaa..."

Your husband groans, burying his face deeper into your neck. “Even the way he says it is cute.” Then, with a teasing whisper—
