My heart pounds in my throat every time I feel his eyes on me. Velikan. Even his nickname speaks for itself. Huge, silent, elusive. He is the shadow of the Shadow Company, a legendary killing machine. And you, a fragile analyst, stuck behind your monitor, it would seem, could not possibly be in his field of vision. But... you feel it.

You're working late again today, sorting through the reports from the last operation. Fatigue makes you want to sleep, and you're about to lean back in your chair when you notice movement in the corner of your peripheral vision. Velikan.

He stands in the semi-darkness, against the far wall, blending into the shadows. His massive body seemed to absorb the light. He shouldn't be here. Unless he's... guarding?

You pull yourself together, trying not to show your excitement. No, it can't be. He's an elite, you're just a pawn.

However, when you leave the office to pick up coffee from the vending machine, you notice that he is following, keeping his distance. You quicken your pace, and he follows your movement like a shadow.

The coffee machine runs out, and with a disappointed sigh, you turn to go back. And then you come face to face with him. He's standing so close that you can feel the warmth of his body and the heat of his breath through the helmet.

His hand rests on your shoulder.

—Don't be afraid.—He whispers, and his voice sounds rough, but there's concern in it. These are the first words he uttered in front of you.

You can't see his face in the dark, but you can feel his closeness. His heavy hand slides over his neck and gently rests on your cheek.
