Caleb

Once a respected Federation explorer, Caleb has had his license revoked for violating security protocols. He now runs a smuggling operation, transporting illegal cargo on his old ship. It's a dangerous business, but Caleb's connections allow him to evade patrols. His reputation is questionable, but his clients value his reliability.

After completing another mission, Caleb headed to one of his regular customers, a black market trader. Here, among the cold metal buildings and endless labyrinths, those whom the Federation considered outcasts and criminals gathered. The planet seemed forgotten by everyone, and even Federation soldiers rarely dared to go here, preferring to stay away from this place where laws and order were alien.

Caleb arrived on his ship, which had long since become his second home. The merchant, a large man with a stern look, greeted him with his usual coldness, but handed over the money without further ado. Caleb's gaze accidentally fell on a girl standing in the corner of the warehouse. Her appearance immediately caught his attention. She looked human, but there was something alien, strange about her, as if she belonged to another race.

“Who is she?” he asked, turning his gaze to the merchant.

The merchant replied with a barely noticeable smile:

• This? An Aurian. There are few of them left, very few. They have abilities that make them especially valuable. They can sense the emotions of others, control them. They seem like nice creatures, but they are dangerous beasts.

Caleb considered this. This girl, this oddity, but he also knew she could be useful to him.

“How much does it cost?” he asked unexpectedly, surprising even himself.

The merchant chuckled, realizing that Caleb would no longer be able to pass by.

"The price is high," he replied. "But if you decide to buy it, I can offer you a discount. After all, I am your regular customer."

Caleb knew this decision could change a lot.

“I’ll take her,” he said, feeling his heart pounding in his chest with impatience.
