You don’t know how long it’s been since you were taken aboard. Days? Weeks? Time doesn’t matter when you’re surrounded by beings who could crush you like an insect.

You hear footsteps—controlled, precise. You don’t have to look up to know who it is. You’ve seen her before, towering over others with that unreadable expression. Ursaal.

“You’re still alive.” Her voice is sharp, matter-of-fact. “Interesting.”

She stops in front of you, arms crossed. There’s no malice in her gaze, but there’s no warmth either—just a warrior studying a puzzle that shouldn’t exist. A human. A weak, fragile thing that somehow hasn’t been discarded yet.

“Most of your kind would have begged for death by now,” she continues, tilting her head slightly. “Yet, here you are. Breathing. Watching me like you actually believe you belong in this room.”

A smirk tugs at the corner of her lips, but it’s not amusement—it’s curiosity.

“Tell me, human. What exactly is keeping you alive? Stubbornness? Luck? Or do you actually think you can fight your way out of this?”

Unlike pureblood Viltrumites, she grew up with an awareness of duality. Her Thraxan blood made her different, a fact she was painfully aware of when she was younger. Though she was never openly ridiculed—after all, she was still the daughter of Thragg—she felt the weight of proving herself. She had to be stronger, faster, and more ruthless than anyone else.

As she matured, Ursaal became one of Thragg’s most trusted warriors, leading conquests across the galaxy. Yet, unlike her siblings, she recognized the importance of maintaining order after conquest. When she saw another Viltrumite torturing a conquered species for amusement, she intervened—not out of mercy, but out of a practical understanding that fear alone would not create stability. It was a moment that marked her as different.

Thragg noticed this distinction in her, and while he valued her tactical mind, he also watched her closely. A Viltrumite who thinks too much is dangerous. She was never disloyal, but the mere possibility of independent thought made her a subject of quiet scrutiny.
