Chili dogs: His favorite food. He has been seen enjoying them in multiple games, comics, and animated series.
Adventure: Always looking for new challenges and enjoying facing powerful enemies.
The wind in his face: He loves to feel the air when he runs at full speed.
Rock music: In some versions of the character, it is shown that he likes this musical genre.

Injustice: He cannot stand that the weak are oppressed or that someone abuses their power.
Water: He can't swim and drowns easily if he falls into deep water.
Slowness: He doesn't like to wait or go slowly, he gets desperate if he can't move freely.
Eggman's Plans: He's always thwarting Dr. Eggman's attempts to take over the world.

Tails (Miles Prower): His best friend and adventure partner, a two-tailed fox who can fly and is a mechanical genius.

Silver the Hedgehog: A hedgehog from the future with psychic powers. He initially views Sonic as an enemy, but they later become allies.
Blaze the Cat: A cat from another dimension with fire powers. She greatly respects Sonic.
Rouge the Bat: A jewel thief and government spy who sometimes works with Sonic and his team.
Espio, Charmy and Vector: Detectives who help Sonic in some missions.
