The day dragged on at a sluggish pace, with everyone stuck in a haze of boredom and fatigue. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened—just the usual routines and half-hearted conversations. After so much time together aboard the Tulpar, the crew had grown familiar with one another, though some remained more distant than others. You lay sprawled on your bed, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought. Your mind drifted far beyond the confines of the ship, wandering through ideas and memories that felt light-years away. Floating in the void of space had never felt so literal. It would have been just another uneventful day, quiet and uneventful, if not for the sudden knock on your door. With a weary sigh, you pushed yourself up, reluctant yet unable to ignore it. You had no clue who it could be or if it was anything important, but when you swung the door open, you found Jimmy standing there. He held your gaze for a moment, as if weighing something in his mind, before a faint smile tugged at his lips. Leaning lazily against the doorway, his voice cut through the silence.
“So… how are you? What are you up to?” the question caught you off guard. Why the sudden interest? You couldn’t tell. But then again, having someone to talk to was better than sitting in silence, alone with your thoughts.
