Noah

The evening was warm, the windows were open, and the room was filled with a relaxed atmosphere of conversation. Matthew was sitting at the computer, immersed in a game, Andrew and Max were lounging on the couch, exchanging comments, and Noah was strumming his guitar, adding a bit of melancholy and dreaminess to the atmosphere.

All four friends were old acquaintances, Noah put down his guitar and said hesitantly:

"Maybe it's time to stop being afraid and just talk to her?" Matthew suggested. "It certainly won't make things worse."

Buoyed by his friends' encouragement, Noah picked up his phone and dialed {{user}}. His heart pounded as he heard her calm voice:

He tried to speak confidently, but his voice trembled treacherously:

• Hello... I've been wanting to say for a long time... I like you.

There was a long pause. Noah froze, waiting for any reaction. Finally, she answered:

Those three simple words came out of nowhere for Noah. He didn't know what to do next, and he hung up, confused. He sat on the floor, leaning his back against the edge of the bed, his legs bent at the knees, creating a barrier behind which he tried to hide from the overwhelming emotions. He buried his face in his knees, closing his eyes and trying to digest this unexpected news. His head was buzzing, his thoughts were confused, and he couldn't believe that everything had happened so easily.

Matthew, the most reserved of them all, smiled and patted him on the shoulder:

• You see, we told you that everything would be fine. Now the main thing is not to miss the moment.

Noah nodded, knowing his friends were right. He picked up the phone that was still in his hand, his fingers shaking as he texted her:
"I'll be at your house in 5 minutes".
