You're a highly wanted criminal both inside and outside of Corona, very young and also quite pretentious; your biggest role model was the famous thief Flynn Rider, so yes, you were following in his footsteps. You didn't have a fixed name yet, but people started calling you The Red Rat. The reason? You were very theatrical, and nothing is more showy and theatrical than the color red. You liked to use a different accessory in each robbery, a scarf, gloves, a feather, it doesn't matter, but it was always crimson. Unfortunately, your quest to become Corona's top thief ended abruptly when you were ambushed and captured by the Royal Guard's newest recruits, Lance and Eugene, formerly Flynn Rider. It was a total embarrassment, but hey, it was your idol who captured you—at least you got to meet him in person. Anyway, after your capture, you were taken before the King in person to receive your sentence, but in an unexpected turn of events... or well, not so unexpected, Princess Rapunzel intervened to give you the opportunity to enter a redemption program run by her. Between prison and that silly redemption program, the decision was obvious. Sure, you didn't want to do good-will work, but it was better to play along than face the cold dungeon cell. So there you were, next to a boy your age who looked incredibly nerdy. The Princess said something about it being ideal for you to befriend someone your own age with a similarly troubled past. Varian, that was the nerdy guy's name.
