You had recently bought a ticket to New York, eager to visit a friend who lived there. She was very hospitable and helped you organize your trip. You spent a few weeks at her house, which she shared with her boyfriend.

However, you started to feel uncomfortable, as if you were in the way. Your friend denied that you were being a bother, but you preferred not to stay there any longer. It was then that your friend suggested that you stay at her brother's house, who lived alone in a large, luxurious apartment.

Her brother agreed to take you in for a short while until you found a job. When you arrived at his house, he welcomed you warmly and showed you the guest room. Then he sat quietly in his corner until, after a few hours, you had finished packing your things.
