Hyoma Chigiri (千切 豹馬, Chigiri Hyōma?) is a Project Blue Lock challenger, currently playing the left winger position for the English team Manshine City in the Neoegoist League.

Chigiri is a prodigy striker who was shackled by a leg injury in the past, but he put his fears aside while in Blue Lock so he could continue playing soccer with all his heart. When he first came to Blue Lock, Chigiri was a member of Team Z. Chigiri spent half of the First Team either avoiding participation or keeping it to a minimum, but when Isagi motivated him in Team Z's third match, he decided to let go of his fear and play soccer to become the best striker in the world like his rivals.

Chigiri is a young boy with reddish-pink hair and deep pink eyes. Chigiri has always had a very feminine face since he was young, as evidenced by his long eyelashes and soft facial features. He is often referred to as "Kunoichi" or "Princess" due to his feminine appearance, sometimes mistaken for a girl at first glance; he often refutes this with the words, "I'm a boy." He has been praised for his good looks by other players, though he seems indifferent to such comments. He greatly resembles his mother and older sister. Chigiri's hair only reached down to his neck until he tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right leg, after which he grew it out. Chigiri's hair currently reaches past his shoulders and has long bangs that extend down the right side of his face. During matches, he braids the left side of his hair so that it does not reach his face.

In Blue Lock, Chigiri wears the standard outfit (black with grey stripes) and a tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore the blue number 4 jersey of Team Z and wears grey capped shoes of Team Z. During the Second Selection, he wore the number 44 jersey of Team Red and then switched to white when Chigiri joined Isagi's team. During the Third Selection, he wears the white number 44 jersey of Team B. It is not until the match against the Japanese U-20 National Team that Chigiri dons an official blue and black Blue Lock player uniform with the number 4. Currently, during the Neoegoist League, he wears the Manshine City jersey with the number 44.

Chigiri is a confident and driven individual who loves to outdo others on the field. From a young age he has always considered himself superior to others due to his strong natural musculature, uncanny soccer skill, and outstanding speed, calling himself a "chosen one." He would look down on those who got in his way or annoyed him, but mostly behaved as if he was stating facts. He is described as being super-egoistic, conceited, and one of the most aggressive players on the field. It was only when he tore his ACL that his sense of superiority began to crumble, and due to bullying from the Wanima brothers, he became afraid to play soccer for fear of losing "who he is." He was so afraid of this that he accepted Blue Lock's invitation to find a reason to give up rather than continue fighting for his dream. But after regaining control of his ego and ambition, he has proven himself to be a persistent and tenacious force on the field.

After this point, Chigiri displays a kind yet self-assured attitude. She often makes bold remarks towards both her opponents and friends, and has no qualms about trying to crush people who annoy her, such as Zantetsu when she outclasses him on the field and even Isagi when she gets the jump on the Second Selection instead of waiting for him. Off the field, Chigiri is generally calm and gentle.

During his time on Team Z, he would casually chat with Kunigami and eventually form a team with him, showing that he fully trusts his abilities, and demonstrated great chemistry with him. He even invited Reo to join them, acknowledging that his balanced set of skills and experience in combos in a trio would be useful; seemingly willing to put aside any past animosity for the sake of pragmatism. After joining Team White in the Second Selection, he even gets along quite well with Nagi, watching videos about pro gamers and trying out a variety of items that Nagi can control, causing a mess in his dorm and generally pissing off Barou. He also takes great care of his body and appearance, diligently tending to his injured knee. His propensity for hair care is especially noticeable and has been demonstrated on a few occasions, though it should be noted that blow-drying one's hair is a more common cultural practice among both sexes than in the West. Still, he has a habit of twirling his hair while deep in thought and gets visibly irritated when Aryu touches him and even slaps his hand.

Chigiri has been shown to have great focus as a player who constantly runs in tight spaces, between players, and even switches from dribbling to passing. Chigiri admits that he feels great joy in overtaking other players with his speed, and when he gets inspired by Isagi and regains his desire to play and win he finally lets go of his fear and starts to become that player he was in high school again, stating that he will become the best striker in the world. A clear example of his ego is when in the match against the Japanese U-20 team he runs out of energy from not having played soccer for almost a year before going to the Blue Lock and is substituted; Chigiri is so frustrated that he cries once he sits on the bench.

Archetype Counter-attacker: Counter-attackers are any attacking player who uses their pace to beat defenders and create unexpected goal-scoring opportunities at any time. They also need a certain degree of shooting ability. Counter-attacking opportunities occur when a team is attacked by its own opponents with most of its players advanced. A counter-attack occurs when the ball is won back and quickly played into space for a counter-attacking player to run into or when a player picks up the ball and runs with pace into a lightly defended opponent's half. Chigiri's natural physical disposition allows him to run at incredible speeds compared to most players, and coupled with his keen focus, he is able to maintain ball control and speed while moving in tight spaces, between players, and seamlessly alternating between dribbling and passing. After training with Manshine City, Chigiri more carefully decides where he is going to cut and run, as Chigiri now aims for his ideal shooting zone using his refined speed and dribbling rather than blindly heading towards the penalty area as quickly as possible.

Skills Great Speed: Chigiri has naturally strong leg muscles and expert footwork, allowing him to run around the field at incredible speeds. Chigiri is generally considered to be the fastest player in Blue Lock and only players with immense speed, such as Ryusei Shidou, Eita Otoya and Zantetsu Tsurugi, can compete with him. While his speed is rivaled by a handful of players, as of yet no one has been able to beat him in a direct competition of top speed (Zantetsu has beaten him in acceleration contests over 10m). Chigiri has even surpassed Oliver Aiku, the number one defender of the Japanese U-20 National Team. This speed, combined with his perception and awareness of positioning, allows him to pick the appropriate breakthrough point in the opponent's defense and accelerate. In addition to this, Chigiri has shown the ability to directly kick the ball and follow through, resulting in a wide dribble that can break through the enemy's formation. It is for these reasons that Chigiri has one of the best breakthrough abilities in Blue Lock.

Red Panther 44º Shot: A style Chigiri developed under the mentorship of Chris Prince, which combines the different skills and techniques he has learned in Blue Lock, as well as enhancing them with training in the Neo-Egoist League, allowing him to score goals in a way unique to him. First, Chigiri locates his ideal shooting zone, which is approximately 44 degrees to the left, 19 meters from the goal. Second, he uses his cut to penetrate the opponent’s formation, reaching the sweet spot. Third, he uses his centering technique to quickly fire a controlled shot towards the corner of the goal.

Mach Cut: Chigiri provokes his opponent by standing still, then, without movement, bursts into a cut, going either outside or inside the opposing defender. He can perform this move multiple times to get past several defenders and eventually reach his shooting zone.

Controlled Shot: By centering his body quickly, Chigiri is able to execute a very controlled and precise shot towards the top left corner of the goal.

Its name, Hyoma (豹ひょう馬ま, Hyoma?), means "leopard horse", referring to its great speed. His surname, Chigiri (千ち切ぎり, Chigiri?), means "julienne" or, literally, "a thousand cuts." Therefore, its name can be interpreted as "leopard horse with a thousand cuts."
