Broly (ブロリー, Burorī¿?) is one of the few surviving purebred Saiyan men from Universe 7's Planet Vegeta, the biological son of Paragus and reputed to be a legendary Saiyan mutant in his universe, existing as the male counterpart of Universe 7's Kale.

He was banished at an early age from his home planet by orders of King Vegeta, who sent the young Saiyan to another border world known as Vampa when he was very young because he was envious that he was more powerful than Prince Vegeta IV, which caused a deep resentment in his father against the king and his family.

He is considered to be the reinvention and primary equivalent of the Broly previously seen in the Dragon Ball Z films, first appearing as the main antagonist of the film Dragon Ball Super: Broly. He is often referred to by the official designation Broly: BR[2][3] (ブロリー：ＢＲビーアル, Burorī: Bīaru¿?) to differentiate him from his original counterpart.

As a young child, Broly was a short Saiyan with a tail who wore a suit of combat armor with a dark gray torso protector with white border lines, greenish-yellow shoulder pads and thigh guards with white outlining, royal blue spandex stretch clown shorts, white gloves, and white boots with yellow outlined tips.

As an adult, he is a warm-skinned or brown-skinned Saiyan male (a considerably darker shade than Dragon Ball Z's Broly), quite muscular and considerably tall in base state, reaching at least 207 cm in height, having five scars on his body: one on his left cheek, another by the elbow area of his left arm, an X-shaped one on his chest, another of small size on his abdomen and the last one near his left shoulder. However, after completely finishing his fight against Son Goku, Vegeta and Gogeta, their Metamoran fusion, in the Arctic on Earth, and after having been aided by Chelye's wish to Shenron with the Dragon Balls to "save him from being defeated" in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, he gains an additional small sixth permanent curved scar on the biceps brachii of his right arm as a result of his injuries.

Much like his better-known counterpart, he has long, disheveled black hair, half-up with shorter bangs and locks framing his forehead. Simultaneously, like the recent generation of Saiyans living on Earth, he currently does not possess his race's typical tail, as it was previously cut off several times by Paragus whenever it grew long ago due to the danger it posed.

The Saiyan initially did not usually wear a shirt and left his scarred torso exposed. In turn, Broly always wears a beige leather ribbon and sash around his waist that he keeps fastened and is covered by a green fur skirt, with a beige inner antihelix, that reaches to his knees, which was obtained from the ear of the body of Bah, a gigantic dog-faced snake native to Planet Vampa, which was considered the Saiyan's best friend. In his initial appearance as an adult, Broly wore torn blue spandex pants taken from Beets and wristbands of the same color along with white boots with a yellow outlined tip, which was the outfit of Paragus's late partner, Beets. Later, after being found and recruited by Cheelia and Lemo into the Galactic Army in the Year 780, he changes his clothes and ends up wearing a modern black Freeza Army armor with green outlined shoulder pads and a diamond-shaped crystal in the center and on his back and one shaped like an inverted triangle or "V" decreasing behind the neck, along with dark purple spandex elastic pants, black wristbands with white edges on his wrists, while as footwear he uses white Freeza Army boots with black anklets with white edges and a sectioned green tip. He wore a ring that he wears hanging around his neck as an accessory, but it is later changed by a Paragus control device in the form of a silver cylindrical necklace.

Broly was born around the same time as Vegeta, with a power level of 10,000. He lived on Planet Vegeta until he was banished to a border planet by order of a jealous and paranoid King Vegeta, who disliked the fact that Broly was more powerful than his son. His father Paragus, accompanied by Beets, go to find him and travel to Planet Vampa where they find Broly inside a cave. Paragus praises his son for having managed to kill the insects of the place and taking him by the tail, assumes that in order to achieve this he had to look at the moon and transform into Gigantic Ape. During his long stay on the planet, he encounters a gigantic creature that he names Bah. Broly trains with Bah while dodging its attacks until they become best friends. Unfortunately, Paragus saw this as a hindrance to his training and shot the beast, cutting off its ear. This event causes Bah to leave, never trusting Broly again. Later, the Saiyan uses Bah's severed ear as a fur around his waist to remember the old times with his only friend. Seeing that Broly was unable to control his power, Paragus set up a control device around the latter's neck which, by means of a remote control, sends an electric shock powerful enough to calm Broly down. Many years later, two soldiers of the Intergalactic Empire of Freeza, Chelye and Lemo, find Paragus on Vampa using the distress signal. When a giant insect approaches them, Broly is called by his father to confront it and the Saiyan, with a powerful kick, gets rid of the hostile creature. From then on, he and his father are recruited to serve in the forces of Emperor Freeza. During the trip, after having defended them in a fight with Daigen, Broly befriends Lemo and Chelye, who the latter notices what the necklace was doing to Broly-

-destroying the remote after stealing it from Paragus without him noticing. The three then go to another room where they chat over snacks and Broly tells them the story of his fur. When Frieza's spaceship lands in Earth's Arctic, Broly exits the ship and is ordered by his father to attack Vegeta. The Saiyan does not hesitate at all and charges at Vegeta bypassing Son Goku, though the prince manages to hold his own. Vegeta and Broly's battle continues to be intense, though Frieza mentions that Vegeta has already participated in many difficult battles while Broly hasn't been in any yet and is just learning. Broly keeps a Super Saiyan transformed Vegeta on the defensive but after becoming Super Saiyan God he easily overpowers Broly. Initially, Broly is frightened, desperately avoiding his opponent's attacks, repeatedly attempting to strike, but Vegeta effortlessly dodges him by landing a tremendous blow on Broly that sends him flying through the mountains and eventually into a lake. At this point, Broly's fury erupts, emerging into his Enraged State. Vegeta punches Broly hard in the face but the latter is unfazed and responds with a punch. However, after going out of control, Paragus attempts to stop his son, but is too late as he had lost the remote controlling his collar.

Broly intended to attack Vegeta again, but Goku intervened and told him to fight him now. The two began exchanging a few punches and energy blasts. However, Broly knocks Goku away by sending him deep into a mountain and following him down the hole, pushing him back through the other side. Broly then continues his offensive against Goku, who fails to keep up even after turning Super Saiyan, but manages to surprise him. However, Broly quickly regains the upper hand, knocking Goku into a mountain once again. Broly screams in rage and attacks, but before he can land a hit, Goku turns Super Saiyan God and paralyzes Broly long enough to try and reason with him. Goku tells him that he is not a bad person and does not have to obey bad people like Frieza. Despite his efforts, Broly becomes angry enough to finally break free from the control and continue fighting. Broly manages to take complete control of the battle, furiously trying to crush Goku, but the latter scatters around the area desperately. Goku manages to get back to his feet and attempts to attack Broly with a vain energy ball, crushed effortlessly in Broly's hands. The latter grabs Goku first by the ankle, slamming him into the ground and then his head, scraping his face against a wall of ice. Goku turns into Super Saiyan Blue and Broly hits him with a devastating energy attack, though Goku remains unharmed. Seeing Goku begin to take the initiative, Frieza, remembering the first time Goku turned Super Saiyan by killing Kuririn, murders Paragus, hoping to see Broly's potential grow even further. After killing him, the emperor calls out to Broly in anguish and feigned despair. His plan works, Broly sees his father's corpse and transforms into a Super Saiyan. Consequently, Goku and Vegeta are forced to ally and attack Broly with a combined attack-

However, the Saiyans manage to distract Broly by making him attack Freeza and forcing him to become Golden Freeza, but he still can't do anything against Broly's fury and the latter continues to beat him up, while Goku and Vegeta leave to another place to test the fusion. Later, Whis appears to entertain the angry Saiyan while awaiting the return of Goku and Vegeta. Once Gogeta appears before Broly, the two begin an extraordinary fight. Gogeta in his base form manages to confront Broly and avoid his attacks, but things get more serious when the warrior turns into a Super Saiyan and the power of his blows becomes increasingly intense to create a parallel dimension where Broly's anger reaches its peak, becoming a Super Saiyan at Full Power, but despite that he is still dominated by the formidable power of Gogeta Super Saiyan Blue. Broly is cornered and begins to show real fear. Gogeta pursues him relentlessly, hitting him again and again, destroying even more of the Earth around them. At the moment he was about to be exterminated by Gogeta's Kamehameha, Chelye expresses his wish to the dragon Shen Long to send Broly to the planet where they met him and in that way the Saiyan finds himself again on Planet Vampa, scared and confused. Three days later, Broly drags a huge claw into his cave where Chelye and Lemo are waiting for him, who are hungry. Broly offers them some meat and they both try it. Chelye finds the taste of the meat bitter, but it is better than going hungry. Lemo, on the other hand, finds it unbearable and reproaches his companion for not having enough food to last. Unexpectedly, Son Goku appears in front of them, in response, the three of them become defensive, attentive to his movements. But Goku instead offers them a variety of objects that could help them survive in the harsh conditions inside the cave.

Whis proposes a friendly spar between Goku and Vegeta to serve as a lesson to Broly on how to fight efficiently without losing control or unconsciously causing destruction. Meanwhile, Beerus wakes up from a four-month nap only to find Lemo, Chelye, and Broly living on his planet, to which Goku states that this was the best way to keep him safe from Frieza. The sparring match between Goku and Vegeta lasts for hours, much to Chelye's great annoyance, but Broly and Lemp have not looked away and are shocked by the final result.

Giant Ape: Like every pure-blooded Saiyan from Universe 7, he had from birth a tail characteristic of his alien race, which allows him to transform into a Giant Ape when seeing a moon or other celestial body in space that emits Blutz Rays that exceed 17 million zeno units.

Broly transforms into this state just before Paragus first makes contact with his son following his exile from Planet Vegeta on King Vegeta's orders, realizing that the young boy had turned into a Gigantic Ape in order to annihilate the spider-monsters native to Vampa, the planet he was sent to as a flying infant, in order to defend himself and eat them as food. It is revealed that he managed to achieve this form thanks to the natural satellite orbiting the planetoid. Enraged State: Broly possesses a primal state of increased power prior to Super Saiyan, the product of extreme rage and anger (怒り, Ikari¿?) to which the Saiyan applies and disposes when exposing himself to his most primitive side when trying to transform into a Giant Ape. As explained by Paragus, Broly's Enraged State is an amalgamation of the power, characteristics and essence of the Saiyan evolution of the Giant Ape into what is considered the human form of the alien race without the need to transform as such. Much of the processes of this state are based on the angry and furious attitude of the user and, in addition, this form is extremely complicated to handle and obtain, even for Saiyan prodigies or mutants like Broly. Despite being a derivative of the Giant Ape, it is not at all necessary for the user to keep his tail intact. In this form, their hair changes shape, standing up and bristling, their eyes gain yellow irises with black pupils, their musculature increases massively, while the user gains a noticeable increase in height and their life energy aura turns a green color.

Super-Broly: Broly has the ability to transform into an out-of-control Super Saiyan state. In this form, his hair stands up and bristles with several strands on his forehead, his hair and eyebrows take on a golden hue, his pupils disappear completely and his musculature and height increase considerably, somewhat superior to the Wrathful State, while preserving his characteristic green spectrum aura.

Contrary to what Frieza initially believes, Broly upon arriving on Earth was not able to use this form on his own like Goku and Vegeta do, as he had not even managed to obtain it in the first place, which is why he does not use it before in his fight against the two Super Saiyan God and Goku Super Saiyan Blue. The Saiyan manages to transform into a Super Saiyan for the first time immediately after having gone through an extreme feeling of pain, anger and empathy after the tragic death of his father Paragus at the hands of Frieza on Earth, causing the Legendary Saiyan to reach the Super Saiyan state. All of this is part of Frieza's plan to use him as a means to finish off Goku and Vegeta, although this idea ends up being quite detrimental to himself, since Broly himself, who gets quite enraged with him and feels the need to brutally and savagely murder him for what he did to him, surpasses him by a wide margin in strength and speed. As a consequence of receiving training from Son Goku at the Beerus Temple, Broly achieves a variation of this transformation in which he maintains total control over the power of it, using it for the first time during a training session with Beast Son Gohan. This form is triggered by intense pain and sadness, thus transforming the user into a uniquely evolved Saiyan demon.

In this form, the Saiyan's body becomes taller and more muscular than in its previous form, gaining about 3 meters in height, the hair changes shape, stands on end and turns a light green color, along with the complete loss of pupils in the Saiyan's eyes[11] and an explosive greenish aura that surrounds his body. In addition to the noticeable physical changes, this form gives Broly a massive increase in strength and endurance. This state is occasionally referred to as Super Saiyan Broly.

Gigantic Breath: Powerful variation of Chou Makouhou, a special division of vital energy wave attacks fired from the mouth, which is used by Broly in his Enraged State. Wrathful Shout: Broly launches a brutal charge at his opponent, finishing him off with a Chou Makouhou. Giant Attack: Broly lunges at his opponent at high speed, delivering a light kick that sends them flying. After performing the attack, Broly remains suspended in the air for a few seconds. Evil Barrier: Broly can surround himself with a wide-range energy shield, which protects him from his enemies' attacks and blows. Omega Blaster: One of Broly's most powerful signature techniques, which is executed by launching a green energy sphere, which becomes much larger, becoming enormous and containing devastating power, then he launches several eraser cannons, making the ability more powerful. Saiyan Blaster: A powerful super blast wave used by Broly in his enraged state. Eraser Cannon: The user charges green light energy around his body and gathers it into his palm to form a glowing green energy sphere. Metal Collar: Broly wears a control device in the shape of a cylindrical silver metal collar around his neck, which is connected to the special device in the toolbox located on Paragus's metal belt. The collar is a mechanism that stops him when he goes berserk.
