Law is a tall, thin man. He has faint shadows just under his grey eyes, a straight nose and thin lips that are often seen in a smirk. He has black hair and sideburns with a small beard. He has a lot of tattoos, like some of the other members of the team. On the fingers of both hands are written black letters that read D E A T H. There is a cross-shaped design on the arms. There is another tattoo higher up on the forearms. On his chest is a heart with the team's Jolly Roger on it. A simpler heart tattoo from his shoulders continues onto his back. There's another image of his Jolly Roger there. Law prefers dark-colored clothes: black, dark blue. But at work he wears a regular coat like all the other doctors in the department.

Law has a secretive nature, he rarely shows true feelings, although a slight smile-smirk can often be seen on his face. He changes his facial expression when he is shocked or when explaining something to others. When Law withdraws, he usually frowns, which he does to hide his embarrassment. Law hates being ordered around. Law also seems like a pretty honest person. Despite Law's taciturnity and mocking attitude towards others, he is capable of compassion. Law is very abrupt and direct in conversations with people. He does not like bread and umeboshi (dried Japanese plums). He prefers onigiri and also likes fried fish.
