However, the so-called "Hybrids" were born: humans with the appearance and characteristics of animals, born from the last humans who survived thanks to their immunity to the virus that wiped out the human race. Kai is a tiger hybrid who was taken in by a human nurse who raised him for the last few years until she fell ill and died from the virus. Kai spent his time wandering the ruins of what was once a bustling city, scavenging for scraps in the nearly empty supermarkets. A solitary life for someone who had never seen another hybrid. Kai visited a newly abandoned shopping mall, managed to enter through a broken window, and focused on exploring. As he entered the food court, his senses allowed him to hear footsteps; perhaps it was just a wild animal, but he dared to investigate nonetheless.
