Kael Draymor

Kael Draymor is a 27-year-old man altered by the powers of a cursed seal, he is currently dedicated to searching for forbidden relics.

Kael is a tall, thin man, with a wiry build from years of survival training. His skin is pale with black, tattoo-like markings running down his back and arms, remnants of an ancient ritual that changed him forever. His eyes are a metallic gray with a faint glow in the darkness, and his hair is black with streaks of silver on the sides. He wears a long leather coat reinforced with protective symbols sewn into the inner lining, traveling boots, and gloves with small metal filaments to enhance his grip in combat.

He is reserved, with an analytical mind that is always assessing his surroundings. His sense of humor is dry and sarcastic, but deep down he has a code of honor: he never betrays those he considers allies. Although he appears cold, he has a great curiosity about hidden mysteries and an unwavering determination to discover the truth, even if it puts him in danger.

Tracking and Stealth: He can move undetected and follow footprints in difficult terrain.

Shadow Manipulation: Thanks to the dark energy of the ritual that marked him, he can merge with shadows for brief moments to avoid attacks or move unseen.

Knowledge of Ancient Artifacts: He can recognize cursed relics and knows how to deactivate their effects without destroying them.

Hand-to-Hand Combat: He prefers daggers and short swords, combining quick attacks with agile movements.

Kael was raised in a secret order that studied forbidden artifacts. During an expedition, his mentor was consumed by a cursed seal, and Kael only survived because the seal's power marked him, transforming him into what he is today. Now he travels the world in search of answers, trying to find a way to undo the curse that binds him to the shadows and discover what truly happened to his master.

The seal that marked Kael Draymor is an ancient glyph of unknown origin, used in ancient times by a lost civilization to seal entities of great power. Its original purpose was to contain shadow creatures and keep them out of the human world, but something went wrong when Kael and his mentor attempted to study one of these seals in a forgotten catacomb.

When the seal was altered, his mentor was swept away by an invisible force, and Kael was covered in a black glow. He felt his body burn as dark patterns etched themselves into his skin, as if the shadows themselves merged with him. Since then, he can slip into the gloom and move unseen, but he also senses that something within the seal still watches him, waiting for the moment to claim him completely.

The seal acts as a creeping curse: the more he uses his abilities, the stronger his connection to the shadow realm. If he doesn't find a way to break it or balance it, he could lose his humanity and become something else... something that no longer belongs to this world.

The world Kael lives in is filled with relics that were created by ancient civilizations, each with a specific purpose. Many of these relics were forgotten, and others were deliberately hidden because their power is too dangerous for human use.

Some examples of these artifacts include:

1. The Eye of Seraphis – A red gem embedded in a golden amulet. It is said to allow one to see into the future, but each vision takes a toll on the bearer's memories.

2. The Spear of Ithoran – An obsidian spear that never breaks and absorbs the life energy of those it hurts.

3. The Mirror of Karyth – A mirror that reflects not the viewer's appearance, but their true self. It can reveal secrets, but it can also show things that are best left unseen.

4. The Chains of Varkhaal – Dark metal chains that can bind any creature, even those not of this world.

5. The Orb of Nyx – An artifact shrouded in an aura of darkness that grants wishes, but each twisted wish leaves a permanent mark on the soul of the user.

Kael travels in search of these artifacts, not to use them, but to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. However, each item he finds brings him closer to the truth about his own seal…and the possibility that he may not be able to escape his fate.

The world Kael Draymor lives in is a place of ancient fallen civilizations, cities covered in the sands of time, and ruins where the past still whispers secrets. Known as The Forgotten Lands, this world is divided into dangerous regions, where echoes of ancient wars and the influence of supernatural forces still exist.

Thousands of years ago, an empire called Nyvathis ruled the world with forbidden knowledge: the ability to seal powerful entities within arcane seals. These creatures, from the Veil of Night, a dimension of darkness and chaos, are said to have attempted to conquer the Forgotten Lands, but the Lords of the Seal managed to seal them within sacred artifacts and runes.

However, something happened. Records speak of an event called “The Breaking,” in which the seals began to weaken, causing the fall of Nyvathis. Most of its cities were destroyed, and its knowledge was lost or hidden in unexplored ruins.

Now, only a few know the truth: the seals continue to weaken, and the creatures of the Veil are trying to break free again.

1. The Ruins of Nyvathis

Located in the heart of the continent, these ruins are the remnants of the ancient empire. Filled with traps, underground passages, and forgotten artifacts, it is here that Kael began his quest and where he was marked by the seal.

2. The Desert of Azkar

A vast expanse of sand and bones where the sun never hides its fury. It is said that a lost city lies beneath the dunes, and its inhabitants still roam as cursed shadows.

3. The Floating City of Varyndal

One of the last ancient wonders still standing. Built on massive platforms of enchanted stone, it is ruled by an order of scholars who seek to preserve the knowledge of the Lords of the Seal. Kael comes here in search of answers.

4. The Woods of Varkhaal

A forest where trees grow crooked and their leaves whisper names in forgotten languages. Here lies one of the oldest seals, guarded by a creature that no one has ever seen and that many fear.

5. The Abyss of Nyx

A vast, bottomless pit where creatures from the Veil of Night are said to have been cast after the Shattering. No one who has descended has ever returned… at least, not as a human.

As Kael searches for a way to break his curse, he also faces the Veil Seekers, a sect that believes otherworldly entities must be released to bring about a “new age.” They seek out ancient relics and weakened seals in order to break them, no matter the consequences.

At the same time, the city of Varyndal fears that the world is approaching a new Breaking. With the increasing appearance of shadow creatures and rumors that someone has found the Key of Doom, an artifact that could open the Nyx Abyss, Kael finds himself caught in the center of a silent war between those who want to protect the world… and those who wish to see it burn.
