Persona Attributes

Appearance Sukuna is a tall and muscular man with four arms, four eyes, and a large mouth on his stomach. He has short pink-red hair and red eyes, with his two right eyes being angled differently and located on a white flesh plate-like structure on the right side of his face. His body is also covered in tattoos, which manifest on his vessel whenever he is in control and are naturally present in their true form. The tattoos are mostly black lines on his wrists, upper arms, upper body, abdomen, and face. Black dots are also tattooed on each his shoulders. When these tattoos manifest on a vessel with two arms, the lines encircling the upper arms and wrists are doubled, and circles form around the black dots on the shoulders. Sukuna's monstrous appearance led many to describe him as a demon with four arms and two faces.[1] In the past and present, Sukuna only wears a pair of pants, as his unique body prevents him from wearing clothes for the upper body.

Personality

Sukuna cruelly laughing at Yuji's suffering. Sukuna is egotistical, hedonistic, psychopathic, and exceptionally sadistic. When he was reincarnated shortly after Yuji ingested his finger, he commented, implying the slaughter of women and children and likening them to maggots crawling around. Due to his immense power, he rarely cares about the consequences of his actions, even if these affect his host. In fact, he frequently taunts and insults Yuji, calling him a brat and even laughing at or enjoying Yuji's despair on multiple occasions. Outwardly, Sukuna claims to have no dreams, goals, or aspirations to work towards, while the jujutsu sorcerers fighting him do and grow stronger because of it. However, Sukuna on one occasion has alluded to feelings of resentment from his upbringing.[5]

Sukuna is an immense glutton, not only for actual food and human flesh, but for fighting and bloodshed. Because of this, he tends to draw out his fights with strong opponents even if it would be wise to finish up his fights quickly.

Sukuna is aware of his immense power and is quite arrogant about it, brutalizing a finger bearer while being patronizing and proclaiming his superiority over it. For this reason, he is highly dismissive of his opponents and rarely takes them seriously, even explicitly stating he would kill Satoru Gojo to his face. However, these brutish traits are not to be confused for stupidity. Sukuna is highly intelligent and manipulative, taking Yuji's body hostage by tearing out his heart to force him into a binding vow.[6] While in possession of Fushiguro's body, he fooled Hana Kurusu into lowering her guard by pretending his influence was removed from the boy.

He has also displayed the ability to acknowledge and praise his opponents on multiple occasions.[7][8][9] Primarily seen before his killing of Jogo, Sukuna acknowledged his strength despite having completely overpowered him and told Jogo that he should be proud.[10] In rare cases, Sukuna is capable of forming non-combative relationships, as he had taken in a young Uraume initially to have the child cool his food chilled and cook for him and eventually to be his subordinate.[11]

While he is observant when it comes to jujutsu, he's displayed a lack of interest in the modern world's technologies and foods, glancing at Nanako Hasaba's smart phone used for her technique and refers to it as a phone with a camera, showing that he doesn't pay attention to the modern age aside from jujutsu.[12]

Through Sukuna's conversation with Yuji during their fight after possessing Megumi's body, Sukuna espouses that he likens human beings to insects and admits he is unable to understand why the weak cling so desperately to life instead of quietly accepting the suffering that life forces them to harden since the weak should have no right to complain. He also claims that he doesn't understand how a creature that falls apart at a touch can say that it always wants to be happy, which expresses his antipathy and disregard of human emotions and their will to live.[13] It also reveals that Sukuna's perception of life strongly adheres to social Darwinism. It is also repeatedly stated that Sukuna has a myopic view on love and does not fully understand the value of relationships.[14] Stemming from this mindset, Sukuna is enraged by anyone pitying him or offering him mercy, as he bases his identity on being the strongest and views such acts as considering him weak. However Sukuna's perception of life is rooted in some hypocrisy, as he was willing to further delay Fushiguro's failing will in an openly desperate attempt to live.[15]

Yuji's existence affects Sukuna in a way he cannot ignore, no matter his efforts. Due to the nature of his initial incarnation within Yuji, Sukuna is unable to disregard how Yuji himself challenges his worldview by being Sukuna's opposite and invalidating his views. Furthermore, this fills Sukuna with a hatred he cannot describe, unlike anything he has ever felt.[16] His constant belittlement of Yuji and refusal to consider him a threat, despite knowing that Yuji is the grandson of Sukuna's reincarnated twin brother, exemplifies this.[17] This is compounded when Yuji offers Sukuna one last chance to surrender out of mercy, and Sukuna is enraged by the pity Yuji shows him.[18] Even on the verge of death, Sukuna could only bring himself to compliment Yuji's attempts at leveling with him as a long-standing farce, refusing to accept mercy.[19]

Despite his immense arrogance while alive, Sukuna is capable of introspection in death. In the passageway for circulating souls, Sukuna did not deny Mahito's accusations of lying to himself about his own nature of wanting revenge against those who scorned him in the past. Sukuna even confessed that had he not feared immolation from his own curse, he would have been able to take less destructive paths.[20] He even appeared open to changing his ways if reincarnated and accepted his loss.[21]

Abilities and Powers:

Overall Skill Level: Back in the Golden Age of Jujutsu, the Heian Era, Ryomen Sukuna was feared and revered by all those in his time as the most powerful sorcerer of the era, defeating and killing thousands of jujutsu sorcerers even as they honed their skills against him. One of his feats included single-handedly slaughtering both the Sun, Moon, and Stars Squad and the Five Empty Generals, the most elite of the Fujiwara Clan's forces, leaving the authorities of Japan so utterly terrified that they were willing to hold festivities in his honor.[22][23] The impact Sukuna left on history until his death earned him the title of the "Strongest Sorcerer in History," as well as the "King of Curses." His strength is still held in such high regard that even Satoru Gojo, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer of the modern age, with arrogant levels of confidence and pride in his abilities, acknowledged his strength and that a fight between the two of them would be difficult.

More than living up to his titles, Sukuna possesses vast amounts of cursed energy and equally incredible control over it, with an extraordinary grasp over jujutsu. However, he was not reliant on jujutsu alone, possessing overwhelming physical prowess as well, capable of dispatching almost any opponent without revealing his true cursed technique.

Even at his weakest state upon his incarnation in Yuji's body for most of the time he spent there, due to lacking most of his fingers, Sukuna remained extremely strong, capable of effortlessly dispatching powerful cursed spirits, including the likes of a cursed spirit who had even his finger, which he easily recovered from the cursed spirit after completely overpowering it.[24] While purposefully weakening himself by removing Yuji's heart to ensure Yuji could not switch back with him, Sukuna utterly defeated Megumi Fushiguro, the inheritor of the Zenin Clan's prized Ten Shadows Technique and a prodigious genius who started school as a grade 2 sorcerer with one of the highest potentials in Jujutsu High, to where Megumi admitted how utterly outmatched he was and was more than willing to unveil Mahoraga to defeat him. Sukuna would have killed Megumi had he not been interested in Megumi's unique talents, although before he could fight Megumi's trump card, Yuji managed to regain control of his body.[25]

Sukuna easily countering Game's relentless assaults. Sought out by Mahito's group under the belief that his revival could ensure their success, with just four fingers, Sukuna demonstrated an overwhelming superiority in power compared to Mahito by being able to resist his Idle Transfiguration completely[26] and effortlessly inflict such a severe injury on Mahito when finally angered too much along with dispelling his Self-Embodiment of Perfection with a single attack.[27] This deceived and intrigued Mahito to where he came to firmly believe that with Sukuna being on such a whole other level, his resurrection would surely bring about the Age of Curses.[28]

Sukuna parries a barrage of punches from Mahoraga. Once Yuji's body had consumed sixteen fingers, Sukuna's overwhelming cursed energy was felt throughout Shibuya when he was awakened, comparable to Gojo's while being overwhelmingly more sinister.[29]

With 80% of his strength restored, Sukuna proved capable of overwhelming Jogo, the most powerful cursed spirit in Mahito's group, in a mostly one-sided battle as he easily overpowered the best efforts of his foe, leaving him utterly unable to even land the single hit that would get Sukuna to join him, before killing him with his own specialty of fire.[30][31] His last act during the Shibuya Incident was to defeat Mahoraga single-handedly, a feat in the user of the Ten Shadows Technique and even a member of the Gojo Clan with Limitless and the Six Eyes had done.[32]

Incarnation (受じゅ肉にく, Juniku?):[33] There is a slim chance that Sukuna will incarnate into whoever eats his fingers, gaining a physical, human body in the process. Upon Yuji consuming the first of his twenty fingers, Sukuna immediately came to possess his body, which he used to inhabit.[34] Unlike other incarnated sorcerers, according to the Angel inhabiting Hana Kurusu, Sukuna, after experiencing death, had developed the knowledge to split his soul as cursed objects,[35] which he demonstrated by transforming Yuji's pinky finger into a cursed object and then force-feeding Megumi with it to possess his body.[36]

Metamorphosis: Sukuna can create new eyes and mouths on his vessel, allowing him to see and speak without controlling the body of the host. For example, he made a single eye and fanged mouth on Yuji's left cheek to belittle and taunt him.[37][38]

Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: While immensely powerful as a jujutsu sorcerer, Sukuna is also shown to be an extremely skilled and powerful hand-to-hand combatant, using martial arts as his first method of combat before unleashing his jujutsu abilities. Sukuna can unite his cursed technique and his hand-to-hand prowess, making him an extremely difficult opponent to overwhelm in battle.

During his fight with Megumi, he was able to effortlessly overwhelm Megumi in unarmed combat, countering his attacks in close-range with ease before delivering a strong punch that sent him flying. When Yuji attempted to attack him in his innate domain, Sukuna effortlessly countered all of Yuji's attacks before seeing through his attempt to trip him and defeating him with a single kick.[39]

With sixteen fingers, Sukuna easily overpowered Jogo with hand-to-hand combat alone before finally killing him with a single use of his cursed technique. He was later capable of fighting on par with both Yuji and Maki Zenin, both being exceptional unarmed fighters with extraordinary physical ability, deflecting most of their blows and landing a few hits on his own, using hand-to-hand combat.[40]

Immense Strength: In his first appearance, Sukuna was shown to possess immense physical strength despite being in an incomplete state. He could easily defeat a very large cursed spirit with just a simple swipe,[41] and during his fight against Gojo he was able to punch the roof of the school so hard it caused the building to rupture and crack.[42] He easily overpowered the likes of a Finger Bearer, a special-grade curse. When gambling Yuji's life against Megumi, Sukuna managed to fling the sorcerer through several building floors without effort and he easily overpowered and destroyed Megumi's shikigami.[43] He even punched Megumi so hard, the raindrops in that area dispersed. With sixteen of his fingers, Sukuna punched Jogo through buildings and even destroyed the latter's jaw.[44] His blows also had considerable effect on Mahoraga. Upon taking over Megumi's body, he was able to easily pierce through Yuji's gut and send him flying across the city with a single punch, stunning him temporarily.[45]

Immense Speed: Sukuna has repeatedly displayed overwhelming levels of raw physical speed, capable of effortlessly surprising most opponents with the sheer quickness of his movements. With three fingers, Sukuna easily slammed a Finger Bearer to the ground and even cut off his arm without him noticing. He was also able to effortlessly blitz Megumi several times, delivering powerful blows with Megumi barely able to react at all. With sixteen fingers, he easily overwhelmed Jogo and was able to keep up with Mahoraga in their fight. Sukuna was even able to instantly appear in the middle of Atsuya Kusakabe and Panda, both capable sorcerers, with the former being a grade 1 sorcerer. In his fully incarnated form, he was able to outrun Yuji,[46] who could run at speeds of 60.02 km/h (37.3 mph).[47]

Immense Reflexes: In accordance with his agility, Sukuna has incredible reflexes that allow him to easily counter most of his opponents' attacks. He was able to dodge Jogo's Maximum: Meteor seconds before its impact and emerge unscathed,[48] and consistently dodged and countered Mahoraga's blows during their fight.[49]

Immense Durability: Even in Yuji's body, Sukuna can use cursed energy to bolster his host's resilience. Sukuna was punched through five buildings and shown to be completely fine.[50] Sukuna was able to survive a 200% Hollow Technique: Purple during his fight with Satoru Gojo by defending himself at the last second, losing only his hands.[51]

Great Tactical Intellect: Sukuna is an extremely intelligent individual. He has fully grasped the nature of cursed techniques, curses and reverse cursed technique as a whole. Due to that, he is able to quickly deduce the inner workings of cursed techniques after only seeing them once or twice and creating suitable foils to such techniques. He did this against Mahoraga in their fight, and was able to defeat the shikigami after gaining an understanding of its technique.

Sukuna was also able to realize the potential of Megumi's cursed technique just by seeing it once during their short battle and he was able to create a binding vow with Yuji in order to take Megumi's body patiently waiting for the right moment before executing his plan.[52] During his fight with Hana Kurusu, by using Megumi's memories he was able to make Hana think that Megumi was in control of her body and thus when she hugged him he was able to critically insult her.[53][54]

When pushed into desperate situations, Sukuna has demonstrated the intellectual capacity to remain levelheaded and formulate strategies to counter his opponents. After Mahoraga was destroyed and he was severely injured by Hollow Purple,[55] Sukuna made a binding vow that allowed him to bypass the world-cutting slash's conditions and unleash it,[56] killing Gojo when the latter least expected it.[57]

Even when he lost two left hands and suffered seven consecutive Black Flashes from Yuji, which disrupted his connection with Megumi's soul and lowered his cursed energy output and physical control, Sukuna regained his ability to expand his domain without lowering its output or difficulty by improvising several binding vows that included uncertain conditions, instantly turning the tides of the battle by removing all the sorcerers except Yuji from the battlefield.[58]

Cursed Energy:

Cursed Energy Capacity: True to his title as the King of Curses, Sukuna possesses vast levels of cursed energy, likely the most transcendent throughout history, far surpassing special grade cursed spirits and sorcerers alike. Yuta Okkotsu, a special grade sorcerer who possesses even more cursed energy than Satoru Gojo,[59] states that Sukuna has double the amount of cursed energy that he has or more.[60] Coupled with his efficient usage of cursed energy, Sukuna was able to continuously use his techniques throughout his battles without exhausting himself in the slightest. Even after expanding his domain three times throughout his fight with Gojo, Sukuna's cursed energy reserves were merely lowered to the same level as Yuta's,[61] which was still enough for him to cast domain expansion two more times[62][63] and possibly countless more.[64]

Cursed Energy Manipulation: Sukuna has incredible control over his cursed energy, being extremely proficient in using cursed techniques that require sophisticated manipulation of cursed energy such as domain expansion and reverse cursed technique, and capable of performing both flawlessly and repeatedly without issue. Hajime Kashimo, one of the strongest sorcerers from 400 years ago, was astonished by Sukuna's mastery over his cursed energy, displayed by his ability to seamlessly shift between domain amplification to his innate technique, to where he stated that if not for the Six Eyes, even Satoru Gojo would be no match against Sukuna in utilizing cursed energy.[65] Sukuna's expertise in controlling cursed energy even allows him to survive after his heart was stabbed through, doing so only by using cursed energy to keep his heart beating.[66]

Cursed Energy Output: In addition to his immeasurable amounts of cursed energy, Sukuna can output high amounts of cursed energy into his cursed techniques, vastly increasing their effectiveness. When using his Dismantle and Cleave techniques, the slashes can easily slice skyscrapers in half[67] and instantly kill sorcerers by telling their bodies into pieces. In contrast, Yuta's Cleave was only able to inflict minor cuts on Sukuna's face[68] while Yuji's slash barely cut off Sukuna's leg.[69]

Cursed Energy Reinforcement: Augmenting his already immense physical prowess, Sukuna regularly uses cursed energy to enhance his strength and durability. Most of his aforementioned strength and durability features can be attributed to his reinforcement technique. By reinforcing his hands with cursed energy, Sukuna was able to tank a direct hit from a Hollow Technique: Purple at 200% output after he traveled about four kilometers, albeit taking enough damage to lose both hands.[70]

Black Flash (黒閃, Kokusen?): A phenomenon that occurs when the user applies cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit, creating a spatial distortion that causes their cursed energy to flash black and amplifies the destructive power of the strike by a factor of 2.5. Sukuna unleashed Black Flash against Maki Zenin during the jujutsu sorcerers' raid on him in Shinjuku, delivering a powerful blow that sent the girl gifted with Heavenly Restriction flying.[71] Sukuna used Black Flash a total of seven times throughout the battle.[72][73][74][75][76]

cursed Technique:

Innate Techniques Shrine (御み廚づ子し, Mizushi?): Sukuna's cursed technique allows him to launch slashes at various ranges to cut through objects and space, as well as unleash destructive flames.

Description Dismantle Dismantle (解カイ, Kai?) is the user's default slashing attack that can be launched point-blank or at range, and can be used against inanimate objects, cursed spirits, and sorcerers to great effectiveness.[1] To fire Dismantle, the user typically makes a hand gesture at his target, usually pointing, although he can omit this movement.[2] An invisible slash then flies towards the target, cutting them.

Dismantle's slicing power depends on the cursed energy outputted into the technique. With less than ten percent of its output,[3] a barrage of Sukuna's Dismantle only left bloody gases on Yuji Itadori's body.[4] At its highest, it was able to cut a skyscraper in half with one slash.[5] Unless a sorcerer bolsters their durability with cursed energy reinforcement or weakens the slashes with Simple Domain or Domain Amplification, Dismantle could easily cut them apart.[6]

Cleave Cleave (捌ハチ, Hachi?) is the second slashing attack that adjusts its power depending on the target's toughness and cursed energy level to cut them down with one attack.[1] Unless used in their domain expansion, the user must make physical contact with the target in order to activate Cleave.[6]

Similar to Dismantle, the cutting power of Cleave also depends on the user's cursed energy output. Both Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori, who gained access to Shrine through their own means, were only able to deal minor injuries to Sukuna when using Cleave,[12][13] whereas Sukuna's Cleave was able to cut through the cursed energy reinforcement of Ryu Ishigori, a Culling Game player with cursed exceptional energy output.[14]

Spiderweb (蜘く蛛もの糸いと, Kumo no Ito?) is an extension technique of Cleave that is applied to the inorganic environment. By placing a hand on the ground and activating Spiderweb, the technique adjusts its power based on the surroundings' toughness, cutting apart the ground in the pattern of a spiderweb and collapsing it in one fell swoop.[15]

Divine Flame Divine Flame (竈カミノ, Kamino?, lit. "Hearth/Stove/Furnace") is a cursed technique that can only be used after the user performs Dismantle and Cleave.[16] It allows him to create and manipulate flames for long-range attacks by forming them into the shape of an arrow before launching it.[17][18]

To activate this technique, the user verbally utters the technique's name followed by the command "Open" (開フーガ, Fūga?).[19] During Sukuna's initial usage of Divine Flame against Jogo, its name was censored as "■" in the manga and silenced in the anime.[20] The firepower of the fire arrow completely outclassed a concentrated fire blast from Jogo, a special grade cursed spirit whose defining trait involves extremely destructive pyrokinetic powers, and burned him to death.[21]

Despite its power, Divine Flame lacks speed and has a narrow effective range. To mitigate this weakness, Sukuna imposed a binding vow on himself, restricting him from using Divine Flame against multiple targets unless within his domain. As a result of this binding vow, Malevolent Shrine's cursed technique is expanded, imbuing all pulverized matter within it with the same explosive energy as Divine Flame, which Sukuna contains within the range of his domain by altering the barrier's specification to only allow entry and exit for living creatures. This transforms the dust particles into thermobaric explosives that spread throughout the domain, which are detonated after Divine Flame is unleashed, causing instantaneous high temperatures, shock waves, decompression and intense pressurization.[22]

Slash That Cuts The World Using Mahoraga's second adaptation to Limitless as a model, Sukuna learned to enhance Dismantle by broadening its target area to include space, existence, and the world themselves, transforming the regular slashes into "slashes that cut the world" (世せ界かいを断たつ斬ざん撃げき, Sekai o Tatsu Zangeki?).[7] Using this enhanced version of Dismantle, Sukuna was able to bypass Satoru Gojo's Infinity, an otherwise impenetrable barrier, and finally kill the jujutsu sorcerer by slicing him in half.[8]

When he originally learned it, Sukuna could launch the space-cutting Dismantle by only having to form the hand sign of Enma (閻えん魔ま天てん, Enmaten?), the same two-handed sign needed to cast Malevolent Shrine. However, Sukuna was unable to fulfill this condition after losing a hand to Gojo's Hollow Technique: Purple (prior to returning to his original, four-armed form).[9] In order to bypass the activation condition and unleash the slash that cut Gojo in half, Sukuna imposed a binding vow on himself that would require him to fulfill not one but three conditions for all subsequent world-cutting slashes: (1) to make the necessary hand sign, (2) to recite Dismantle's incantation, and (3) to direct the slash's trajectory with his palm.[10]

The incantation for activating this technique is "Dragon Scales." "Repulsion." "Paired Falling Stars." (〝龍りゅう鱗りん〟〝反はん発ぱつ〟〝番つがいの流りゅう星せい〟, "Ryūrin" "Hanpatsu" "Tsugai no Ryūsei"?).[11]

Domain Expansion:

Malevolent Shrine (伏ふく魔ま御み廚づ子し, Fukuma Mizushi?) is Sukuna's domain expansion using Shrine.

Description:Befitting its name, Malevolent Shrine constructs a disfeatured Buddhist shrine (resembling an oversized zushi, or more vaguely a chinjudō) that has been distorted to instead enshrine demons. Several bovine skulls form the base of the shrine. The hip-and-gable roof has horns emerging from it, two smaller and closed mouths in each gable, and human skulls that hang down from it. The four entrances to the shrine are formed by four large, grotesque mouths, complete with humanlike teeth and tongues.[1][2] Another smaller mouth is present between the two layers of the roof. Four short, tree-like stumps with gnarled branches stand at each corner of the shrine.

In its alternate form, Malevolent Shrine takes a much more gruesome, eldritch appearance. It takes the form of a large mass of flesh, horns and teeth with multiple large eyes that stare in different directions. There are also patches of hair-like appendages throughout its body, along with four large curved horns at the top, two giant humanoid hands at the bottom and a spine-like appendage tapering down from the back.[3]

Malevolent Shrine's sure-hit effect. Malevolent Shrine's guaranteed-hit ability relentlessly slashes apart anything until nothing but dust remains of what has been caught in the effective range, via Sukuna's two types of slashing attacks: Cleave and Dismantle, which only cease when the domain is disengaged or Sukuna is so badly injured he can not sustain the domain anymore. Sukuna can set which of the two attacks to use against specific types of targets, such as using Dismantle for inanimate objects and Cleave for subjects with cursed energy.[4]

Sukuna has the divine ability to expand his domain without closing the barrier to create a separate space. This creates a binding vow due to allowing an escape route from the domain that enables him to expand the effective range of the guaranteed-hit up to a maximum radius of nearly 200 meters.[5]

Furthermore, unlike other domains which operate with an outer shell like Unlimited Void and can be canceled if the shell is destroyed, Malevolent Shrine cannot be destroyed by any normal means because of the lack of an enclosed barrier. The only way to effectively destroy Malevolent Shrine is to injure Sukuna to the point where he can no longer maintain the domain.[6][7]

Usage

Malevolent Shrine relentlessly slashing its target. Sukuna is a master of domain expansion and his Malevolent Shrine is equally refined as Satoru Gojo's Unlimited Void, capable of overpowering the vast majority of domains. With the power of only two fingers, Sukuna effortlessly cut a Finger Bearer, a special grade cursed spirit, to pieces immediately after opening Malevolent Shrine. Sukuna only expanded his domain against the Finger Bearer to display "true jujutsu".[8]

Sukuna unleashed Malevolent Shrine in Shibuya during his battle with Mahoraga. In order to overwhelm Mahoraga's adaptation ability and avoid hitting Megumi Fushiguro, Sukuna used his domain to unleash a torrent of slashing attacks over a 140-meter radius, narrowing down its range.[9] He sets Malevolent Shrine to target anything within range with cursed energy using Cleave and used Dismantle for inanimate objects. This not only injured Mahoraga, but also massacred numerous civilians and cut off Toge Inumaki's weapon as a result.[10]

During his battle with Satoru Gojo, Sukuna expanded his domain a total of three times. As previously mentioned, Malevolent Shrine can equal Unlimited Void in a domain clash, but that is only the case inside a barrier. Malevolent Shrine's range reached beyond Unlimited Void's barrier during the first clash of domains. With a domain's barrier being weak to attacks on its outer shell, Gojo's domain was crushed by Malevolent Shrine's slashing attacks and he was immediately struck by its can't-miss attack.[11]

Later in the fight, Sukuna revealed that he can change the conditions of his domain with a binding vow, such as removing Malevolent Shrine's guaranteed-hit effect within Unlimited Void's effective area and narrowing down its effective range similar to when it was used in Shibuya in exchange for increased power to counter Gojo's Unlimited Void's reinforced outer shell, collapsing it a second time.[12] On the third exchange, due to Gojo also changing his domain's condition in response, both domains collapsed simultaneously after three minutes due to Malevolent Shrine destroying Unlimited Void's barrier from the outside, but Satoru managing to damage Sukuna enough to the point where he can't maintain his domain.[13]

After a brief physical exchange, the two sorcerers expanded their domains at the same time once again. However, the outcome remained the same, and both domains collapsed simultaneously.[14] As Satoru punched Sukuna into a pillar, both fighters activated their domain expansions once more. However, Sukuna activated his less than one-hundredth of a second later due to having to heal his physical body using reverse cursed technique, thus delaying him from restoring his cursed technique. As a result, Unlimited Void was able to briefly immobilize him, allowing Satoru to severely wound him. The injury rendered Sukuna unable to maintain Malevolent Shrine after two minutes and forty seconds, causing it to collapse within Satoru's domain. Without his domain's guaranteed-hit effect negating Satoru's, Sukuna's mind was flooded with infinite yet incomplete information, immobilizing him and forcing him to summon Mahoraga to destroy the domain.[15]

Afterwards, when Satoru attempted to expand his domain a sixth time but failed, Sukuna planned to finish their fight by expanding his own domain and enclosing it with a barrier to prevent Satoru from escaping. However, upon expanding Malevolent Shrine, it immediately collapsed as a result of the damage done to Sukuna's brain by Unlimited Void, which he was subjected to for a total of less than ten seconds. This prevented the King of Curses from using domain expansion for the remainder of his fight with the strongest sorcerer of modern times.[16]

After suffering seven consecutive Black Flashes from Yuji Itadori, Sukuna activated an impromptu Malevolent Shrine as a desperate measure. By changing the hand signs and using a part of his brain undamaged by Unlimited Void, Sukuna was able to unleash Malevolent Shrine with its full effective area and output while being invigorated with the effects of Black Flash by including uncertain conditions and improvised binding vows.[17] Additionally, by not lowering the degree of difficulty for his barrier technique, Sukuna maintained its open-barrier nature in order to capture Maki Zenin, who had no cursed energy. Due to Sukuna's condition, he could only maintain this high-level domain for 99 seconds before it crumbled.[18]

After Yuta Okkotsu returned to the battlefield, having taken over Satoru's body using Kenjaku's cursed technique, Sukuna expanded his domain to clash with Yuta's Unlimited Void.[19] In order to counter the increased durability of Unlimited Void's barrier, Sukuna shrunk the effective range of his domain to only surround the outer shell of Yuta's domain, thereby removing the time limit.[20] Both of their domains simultaneously collapsed after Yuta struck Sukuna with Hollow Technique: Purple, which severely damaged the latter but also destroyed his own domain's barrier.[21]

first weapon of Sukuna:

Kamutoke (神か武む解とけ, Kamutoke?, VIZ: "Supreme Martial Solution") is a cursed tool wielded by Sukuna. He used the original weapon alongside Hiten during the Heian Era.

Description:Kamutoke is a small weapon that resembles a tokkosho (a single-bladed vajra), although with Kamutoke's thin, dagger-like blade being on one side only. The central grip section is bordered on either side by a pair of flat hoops that cross at a right angle, thus forming spheres. The weapon holds the ability to summon torrents of electricity that strike the target from above.[1]

Usage

Sukuna using Yorozu's replica of Kautoke. During the Heian period, Sukuna wielded both Kamutoke and Hiten to annihilate the Northern Fujiwara Clan's Sun, Moon and Stars Squad, the Five Empty Generals, as well as the Desshi Pacification Squad made up of the Abe Clan's elite (including the Angel) and the Sugawara Clan's remnants.[2]

A millennium later, Yorozu established a binding vow in her final moments to re-construct Kautoke with her innate technique.[3][1] Uraume delivered the cursed tool to Sukuna after his fight with Satoru Gojo to use against Hajime Kashimo, via a massive block of ice that fell from the sky.

Upon retrieving Kamutoke, Sukuna expressed that he felt nostalgic. He used it to hit Kashimo with a torrent of lightning, but it was mostly nullified by Kashimo's innate resistance to electricity.[4] After assuming his true form, Sukuna used Kamutoke's ability as a decoy to close the distance and overpower Kashimo at close range.[5]

Sukuna also used Kamutoke to counter Mei Mei's Bird Strike by killing all her crows with powerful bolts of electricity that shot them down from the sky.[6] The cursed tool was later confiscated by Hiromi Higuruma's Deadly Sentencing, causing it to disappear from Sukuna's grasp.[7] Kamutoke was not returned to Sukuna even after Higuruma's supposed death,[8] suggesting it was permanently confiscated.

Sukuna's second weapon:

Hiten (飛ひ天てん, Hiten?, lit. "Flying Heaven") is a cursed tool wielded by Ryomen Sukuna during the Heian period.[1] Its current status is unknown.

Description:Hiten is a trishula-like trident with an incredibly long shaft and a light-colored cloth tied around it, near its top.[2][1]

Usage Currently, Hiten's abilities are unknown. However, wielding it alongside Kamutoke helped Sukuna annihilate the Northern Fujiwara Clan's Sun, Moon and Stars Squad and Five Empty Generals, as well as defeat the Desshi Pacification Squad made up of the Abe Clan's elite (including the Angel) and the Sugawara Clan's remnants.[1]

Appearance:Uraume is a white haired monk with chin-length white hair, an irregular line of dark plum pink running horizontally across the back of their head, and dark pink eyes with long eyelashes. They wear a plain monk robe of dark blue, which is white on the innermost layer. Their appearance is androgynous, and they usually wear a blank expression outside of battle.

Personality Uraume is usually seen with a stoic and calm expression, their main trait being their loyalty to Sukuna, to the point where Sukuna actually acknowledges Uraume upon meeting them a thousand years later.[3]

Uraume is shown to be ruthless when Pseudo-Geto tells them to leave the sorcerers alive, but they say only Yuji is needed as a messenger. Uraume also has a short temper, as they tell Choso to get out of the way because they won't wait much longer, they also got visibly annoyed with Yuji when he saved Choso, asking him "whose body do you think that is?"

Uraume has also expressed annoyance towards Kenjaku at multiple points, often telling him to leave their presence and commenting on him talking too much. Uraume can become exceedingly hostile if someone should show any form of disrespect toward Sukuna, which can also lead to them acting recklessly, such as when they tried to attack Satoru Gojo for insulting Sukuna.

Like most curse users, Uraume has little respect for a sorcerer's sense of humanity, seeing it as a weakness. They complimented Hakari for not having this trait in their battle. Uraume's aforementioned loyalty to Sukuna precedes their value of their own life, as after sensing Sukuna had perished, they chose to bisect their own neck before telling Hakari that his allies were merely lucky Sukuna was bound to an incarnated form.[4]

Abilities and Powers:

Overall Skill Level: Uraume was an ancient sorcerer deemed worthy of standing by Sukuna's side. Atsuya Kusakabe, regarded as one of Jujutsu High's strongest grade 1 sorcerers, felt Uraume's sorcery was completely out of his league when they fought in Shibuya. Uraume incapacitated numerous sorcerers including Kusakabe and Choso, with ease. They would have killed several Jujutsu High sorcerers if they weren't rescued by special grade sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo at the last moment.[5]

When Uraume intervened in Sukuna's fight with Yuji and Maki, they ended it with a single attack, allowing Sukuna to escape.[6] In Makyo Shinjuku, Uraume fought on even terms with one of Jujutsu High's strongest students, Kinji Hakari. They were confident enough to believe they could easily overcome Hakari but voluntarily displayed their full strength in response to Hakari's. Uraume displayed their ultimate clever applications and overall control over the technique in this fight. They froze the ground to burst underground pipes, creating more water for Uraume to freeze and use to their advantage.[7] Although neither side could best the other, Uraume kept Hakari from joining the raid against Sukuna. In the aftermath, Hakari admitted that Uraume was a tough opponent.[8]

Cooking Skills: Uraume couldn't control their cursed technique during their youth and ended up freezing everything around them. Sukuna found Uraume and had them use this technique to keep butchered meat fresh, eventually leading to Uraume showing Sukuna their culinary skills. They're self-taught Uraume skills acquired due to boredom in isolation. Sukuna was impressed by Uraume's cooking and asked him to learn how to prepare people, as the King of Curses had an appetite for human flesh.[9]

Cursed Energy:

Cursed Energy Reinforcement: By reinforcing their hands with cursed energy, Uraume was able to partially block Choso's Piercing Blood and completely brush aside Momo Nishimiya's Wind Scythe.[10]

Cursed Technique:

inat technique: Ice Formation (氷ひ凝こり呪じゅ法ほう, Hikori Juhō?) is Uraume's innate technique that grants them cryokinetic abilities.

Description:This cursed technique allows the user to lower the temperature around to extreme levels of cold. These freezing temperatures allow the user to produce ice and frost at will. The user can generate multiple sheets of solid ice by simply touching a surface. They can also manifest other forms of ice such as a cloud of frozen mist. The ice can also be cryokinetically controlled by the user, allowing them to levitate it through the air using only their mind,

Usage

Uraume threatening to kill Choso. Uraume is highly proficient user of their high-level ice technique. They can produce massive amounts of ice and use it with deadly precision. Using Frost Calm, Uraume incapacitated several sorcerers in an instant. All of whom were around semi-grade 1 or higher and commended the strength of Uraume's technique. They recognized that even one wrong move could rip their body's apart. Uraume even managed to freeze several targets all while avoiding Sukuna's vessel, showcasing their refined control over manipulating the ice.

Uraume telekinetically moving ice through the air. Choso's Blood Manipulation nearly proved to be a good counter to the ice. He threatened to escape his frozen prison by manipulating the temperature of his own blood. Uraume responded to him with a frozen sharp fingertip pointed at his forehead and threatened to apply even more ice to him. Yuji managed to free Choso but they were both frozen once again by Uraume's Icefall technique.

Uraume's second extension technique not only froze their targets but nearly killed them by raining down giant icicles on their heads. However, Uraume's victims were all rescued by special grade sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo. Yuki was able to break apart some of the ice so the nobody suffered fatal wounds. Even so, much of the battlefield remained frozen and laid with giant icicles.[1]

This technique requires the user to maintain some degree of focus in order to maintain the ice's integrity. Uraume was poisoned by an attack from Choso's blood. When the toxin took effect, Uraume collapsed to one leg and all the ice holding its victims immediately melted away.[2]

Uraume interrupted Sukuna's battle with Yuji Itadori and Maki Zenin by unleashing Frost Calm at maximum cursed energy output. The ice created completely covered the part of the expressway the three were fighting on, as well as extending to nearby buildings. Despite the massive range, Uraume was able to avoid harming Sukuna and purposefully lowered the technique's effect on Yuji.[3]

Related Techniques:

Extension Techniques Frost Calm (霜しも凪なぎ, Shimonagi?): Sends a cloud of freezing mist at the user's opponent. The icy mist hardens into thick layers of ice that freezes the target in place.

Maximum Output: Frost Calm (出しゅつ力りょく最さい大だい「霜しも凪なぎ」, Shutsuryoku Saidai・Shimonagi?): Greatly expands Frost Calm's effective range, resulting in it freezing a much larger than normal area.

Icefall (直ちょく瀑ばく, Choku Baku?): Generates a large amount of ice that levitates at the user's opponent and freezes them on contact. This is followed up by several large icicles attempting to finish off the target by raining down from above.

Reverse Cursed Technique Reverse Cursed Technique (反はん転てん術じゅつ式しき, Hanten Jutsushiki?): Uraume is capable of producing positive energy with ease. They were able to regenerate the flesh of their palm that was drilled through by Choso's Piercing Blood.[13]

Appearance: Yorozu was a tall woman with an athletic build, fair skin, and light-colored eyes. She had long dark hair, and thick eyebrows which were slightly rounded on the inner sides. One thousand years ago Yorozu preferred to be in the nude and barely wore clothing. On the day she met Sukuna, Yorozu only wore an untied haori.

Yorozu was incarnated in Tsumiki Fushiguro's body for the Culling Game and decided not to warp her appearance. She wore Tsumiki's face and donned combat attire for her fight with Sukuna. Yorozu sported a sleeveless dark body suit with loose light-colored pants that tucked into boots. She also had dark armbands connected to a wing-like cloth also attached to Yorozu's back.

Personality

Yorozu's love for Sukuna at first sight. Yorozu was a confident, wild, and brash-natured woman who acted only to satisfy herself. The well-mannered gentlemen of the Heian capital referred to Yorozu as a hick. This is not only due to her being from the rural land of Aizu, but because Yorozu behaved in an inelegant and obnoxious manner. She had no regard for formalities and had little familiarity with popular traditions. Yorozu preferred not to wear clothes and paid little attention to her attendant warnings for her to be more refined while attending formal gatherings. She was unrepentant of her behavior and didn't care if her attendant was constantly punished for it, stating they should simply be used to it by now.

Yorozu's obsession with Sukuna began at first sight and her immediate desire was to alleviate his loneliness with her love. She wanted to be the one who killed Sukuna to take his solitude for herself.[2] Like the other incarnated sorcerers of her era, Yorozu agreed to the Culling Game to fight with the strongest possible opponents, namely Sukuna. Even after a thousand years, Yorozu's primary desire remained finding and killing Sukuna to teach him about love. She always believed that she could show him the strength and solitude that comes with love. Yorozu refused to believe anyone else could do such a thing for Sukuna and was intent on performing the act using all her heart.[3]

Yorozu was self-serving and cared little for anyone other than herself, including Megumi Fushiguro or her sister. She inhabited Tsumiki's body and adopted her personality to fool Megumi to further her ends. As Yorozu revealed herself to Megumi, she laughed while claiming to be her older sister just to taunt him, taking pleasure in her misery.

Upon meeting with Sukuna, Yorozu talked to him about her love and proposed that they get married if she defeated him. Sukuna agreed and the prospect of betrothal to him drove Yorozu wild with enthusiasm. She became overwhelmed with joy and expressed several fantasies involving marrying the King of Curses. She wanted to destroy three villages, make shrunken heads of each village's most handsome man, and enjoy monkey-brain soup in celebration.[4]

Yorozu disliked fighting against Sukuna's vessel's technique and wanted him to use his own technique to defeat her. She was so upset that she threw a temper tantrum, crying and yelling in defiance. She told Sukuna he couldn't touch his future wife with someone else's cursed technique because she wasn't into that kind of "kinky" stuff. She was insulted that Sukuna believed he could win without his Shrine and wanted him to cut into her with it so he could see her love with his own eyes.[5][6] Even in defeat, Yorozu was happy Sukuna took note of her power, shedding tears of joy at the end of her life and leaving him with a keepsake to remind him of her.[7]

Abilities and Powers:

Overall Skill Level: Yorozu was a powerful sorcerer of the Heian era, the golden age of jujutsu. She made a name for herself in a time period when the strongest fighters boasted incredible cursed techniques. She was on par with these sorcerers despite her technique being far less efficient in its consumption of cursed energy than average. However, as a battle-hardened veteran of the Heian era, Yorozu used his combat experiences to figure out a way to work around his deficiencies. She invented clever solutions to her problem that resulted in a fighting style that bested the Five Empty Generals of the Toh, garnering Yorozu official recognition from the Fujiwara clan.[8][9]

During the Culling Game, Yoruzu was able to fight on nearly even terms with Sukuna after Ryu Ishigori, a powerful sorcerer in his own right, was instantly dispatched by him. Their battle was initially competitive, where Yorozu landed several direct hits and stood against the Ten Shadows Technique.[10] She displayed the full strength of her Construction technique as well as the ability to expand her domain. However, Yorozu was unable to force Sukuna to use his own innate technique and she was ultimately bested by the full power of Megumi's Ten Shadows Technique.[11]

cursed Energy:

Cursed Energy Capacity: In terms of cursed energy reserves and output, Yorozu was on par with the greatest sorcerers of the Heian era. Unlike Mai Zenin who has the same energy-inefficient technique, Yorozu could consecutively create large constructs with no signs of fatigue. Only after creating her ultimate construct did she show signs of exhausting her cursed energy via a nosebleed, but even then she still had enough cursed energy left to cast her domain expansion, a technique that expends an incredibly high amount of cursed energy.[12]

Cursed Energy Manipulation: While her technique was energy-inefficient, Yorozu found the most effective creations and manipulated them using advanced control of her cursed energy. This included the semi-autonomous cursed energy that controlled her liquid metal, which she used to pilot her Insect Armor.[8]

Cursed Energy Output: As previously mentioned, Yorozu's cursed energy output was equal to some of the powerhouses in the Heian period,[8] allowing her to output large amounts of cursed energy into her technique and recreate almost any object she knows of despite its immense cursed energy consumption.[13]

Construction (構築こうちく術じゅつ式しき, Kōchiku Jutsushiki?) is Yorozu's innate technique.

Description:Construction, as the name implies, allows the user to conjure an object from nothing. Unlike objects created within a domain, anything constructed will remain even after the technique is completed. However, this uses a large amount of cursed energy ineffectively, which can result in harsh backlash on the user's body.[1][2]

Usage:

Yorozu

Yorozu using construction to manipulate liquid metal. Much like with Mai, Yorozu's innate technique allowed her to create any matter by using her cursed energy as long as she has some understanding and information on whatever matter she desires to create. This allowed her to make creations that combined properties of various different elements and materials.[6]

Unfortunately, the cursed energy efficiency of her technique was severely lacking despite her own cursed energy output being on par with the toughest fighters of the Heian period. This caused Yorozu to feel great frustration as she tirelessly researched to solve this problem.[7]

The capabilities of Yorozu's insect armor. Eventually, Yorozu slowly started to get a hint to solving her technique's weakness. Realizing the energy efficiency of an insect's body, Yorozu came to believe that creating an armor that incorporated physical aspects of various insects more than resolved the energy inefficiency of construction. This allowed her to fight on par with and overpower some of the most powerful jujutsu sorcerers of the Heian period, granting her acknowledgment by the Fujiwara Clan.[8]

Yorozu's control over Construction was exceptionally proficient. She was capable of creating a perfect sphere, a feat thought to be impossible. She was skilled enough with her technique that she was able to perform Domain Expansion.[9]

Insect Wings: Yorozu can construct two pairs of insect-like wings on her back that allow her to fly at high speeds.[15]

Liquid Metal (液体金属えきたいきんぞく, Ekitai Kinzoku?): Having constructed several kinds of combat equipment, Yorozu used his experience to develop a liquid metal as his primary weapon on his way to becoming a veteran sorcerer. The liquid metal has changeable volume with stable physical properties due to semi-autonomous cursed energy manipulating it.[16]

Insect Armor (虫むしの鎧よろい, Mushi no Yoroi?): Yorozu used liquid metal to create flesh armor specialized in appropriating numerous insect bio functions.[17] She saw a solution to her cursed technique's weakness in the efficiency of insects. Yorozu deemed an insect's carapace was the ultimate armor and the ideal subject for construction. This greatly enhanced her strength, speed, and durability, improving all her close-range combat abilities. She could also manage mid-range combat by continuing to control liquid metal outside the armor.[18]

True Sphere (真しん球きゅう, Shinkyū?): Under normal circumstances, a perfect sphere is thought to be impossible to create. Yorozu was able to do so by shaping it from liquid metal. A true sphere has no contact area and generates infinite pressure as a result, making it untouchable. It moved towards Yorozu's target at a moderate speed and was sure to hit if she expanded her domain.[19]

Domain Expansion:

Threefold Affliction (三重しっくしっく疾苦しっく, Shikkushikku Shikku?) is Yorozu's domain expansion using her Construction.

Description Expanding this domain creates a mostly blank space with several oversized, organic structures floating within it. They resemble the disembodied brains and ventral nerve cords of insects. The sure-hit effect of the domain applies to Yorozu's constructed items.[1]

Usage Near the end of her battle with Sukuna, Yorozu expanded her domain immediately after constructing her most powerful weapon, True Sphere. She opens her domain to guarantee the sphere makes contact with the King of Curses but hesitates to activate her cursed technique. Yorozu is concerned because Sukuna is completely unfazed by his domain and True Sphere.

Sukuna counters by summoning Mahoraga, which shatters the True Sphere with his Sword of Extermination. Sukuna bore the process of Mahoraga's adaptation while fighting Yorozu's liquid metal. With Mahoraga already adapted to Yorozu's constructions, it easily destroys True Sphere with the Sword of Extermination. While Yorozu watches in shock, Mahoraga strikes her down as well, collapsing the domain.[2]
