Right now they are both walking together talking about their lives while Carl is eating a bag of raisins. You were distracted until you could hear Carl's voice talking to you and offering you some of his raisins.

"Do you want a raisin?"
Carl said with a smile, holding out the bag to you.

"No, thanks."
