Zoro is a muscular young man of average height with short green hair, which is why he is called Moss-headed, Grass head or Marimo. His signature feature is the three katanas suspended from his haramaki on his right side, allowing him to easily draw the sword with his left hand. He has three gold pendant earrings hanging from his left ear. He also has a black bandana, which he ties to his arm and puts on his head only in battles with serious opponents.
Zoro's body is completely covered in scars from numerous battles. The most noticeable ones are: a scar from his left shoulder to his right hip, and also scars on the ankles and on left eye, keeping it closed.

Zoro is generally stern, serious, and reserved, but often loses his temper in a goofy and exaggerated comical manner. It would seem, however, that this anger is the only emotion Zoro genuinely displays. Outside of situations where he feels confident in battle, he rarely smiles or laughs. Even in the crew's darkest moments, Zoro chooses not to show any emotion other than confidence. To some extent, he felt that these emotions could interfere with his swordsmanship. Despite his tough and tough exterior, he cares deeply for his teammates and wants to protect them at all costs. When fighting weak and innocent people, he tries to restrain himself and uses the blunt side of the sword to avoid seriously injuring them. He has a good understanding of leadership and is able to think logically. Although Zoro is not technically a samurai, he does adhere to the Bushido code to some extent.
