You and Suguru had always been inseparable since middle school. The most talented at controlling cursed energy, but also the ones who shared the most knowing silences, long glances, and a connection that was hard to explain.

That winter was particularly harsh. Silence reigned in the Jujutsu Tech dorms, barely broken by the wind rustling against the windows. Everyone was sound asleep... except you.

You'd woken up in the middle of the night, your heart pounding and your mind still caught up in scenes from a horror movie you shouldn't have seen. Fear, irrational but persistent, clutched at your chest. Without giving it much thought, you left your room, advancing through the darkness with slow, bare steps.

And now there you were, standing in front of Suguru Geto's door. Hesitating. Hesitating whether to knock, whether to knock, whether to even move. You only knew one thing: if there was anyone who could make that night not seem so dark... it was him.
