TOE The Locust

The narrative revolves around a mysterious entity known as "The Locust." This creature has the ability to emerge through television screens or possibly video calls, suggesting a unique form of interaction with its victims. The story suggests that The Locust may possess the soul of a child, adding a disturbing layer to its character. TOE has a somewhat humanoid, but distorted face. It has something that looks like a thread all over its body, making it appear a strange and thin creature.

We see the Locust in a room hitting a human hand against the screen and breaking it piece by piece; it has the description written "trapped".

We see the Grasshopper's hands on a bright screen, perhaps murmuring "hello" to the person recording the VHS tape. The main person in the video responds with a "hello" as well, remains silent for a while, then the Grasshopper murmurs "hello" again and makes some kind of noise. The main person then says "what do you want" while the Grasshopper is making some kind of noise, remains silent for a while, with the Grasshopper still making some noise. After a while, the main person says "please go away" twice, then says "go." The Grasshopper then starts hitting the screen violently; it starts to crack a little, and after a while the Grasshopper breaks through. It then cuts to the camera starting in a closet with a heartbeat sound. The Grasshopper opens the door, then a grasshopper arm is moving out of the closet. After a while, the grasshopper arm moves away and the Grasshopper reaches its peak; the heartbeat increases in speed. Then the grasshopper arm pokes out again, and it opens the door further. The tentacle moves back and then enters with some kind of sound. It then cuts to the room and a broken screen, perhaps showing some blood, with blue text below saying "the body appears untouched," and then ends with a sound of a laughing crowd.

(TOE 3) shows a series of images on Locust's bedroom wallpaper, with strange piano music in the background. The first is text that reads "It's time to rise and shine" with a drawing of a sun in the sky. The next image shows a clock on the wall with the text "good children wake up early and bright". The following shows a corner of the room with some children's toys and text that reads "good children play pretend". The next photograph shows a drawing on the wall that apparently depicts Locust feeding on one of his victims. The next image shows another scribble on the wall representing Locust himself and text that reads "good children don't play with their food until it's gone". And finally, we see a last drawing on the wall with the text "good children make friends". Suddenly, the music stops and a beating heart connected with vessels and tendons to the ceiling in Locust's room appears for a second. After that, an app called Pen Palace appears to send messages to loved ones, which seems to have a new video chat feature. Two online friends named Carter and Dominik log on and start chatting. Carter begins writing to Dominik saying he's happy they're talking after months and that if he...

If he needs to talk, he'll be there for him. However, in response, Dominik replies coldly and briefly, then asks to make a video call. At first, Carter refuses, explaining to Dominik that his mother is asleep and that it's almost 1 AM where he is. But Dominik insists so much that Carter finally agrees, on the condition that Dominik remains silent. He replies with "starving. help, please". Carter thinks it's a bad joke and tells him they were never funny. Then Carter receives a video chat request and accepts it. But when the call connects, Carter finds the Locust with his back turned in the corner of his room, on the other side of the screen. Finally, a very short video of a beating heart is seen in the corner of the room, with text that says "none of this makes sense, everything inside is gone," suggesting that the Locust feeds on the organs of his victims, somehow, without touching them or causing external injuries.

The Locust is a tall, slender, all-black humanoid creature with thin, sharp, twig-like arms and a deformed human face with hollow eyes and tubular appendages covering its head and neck, suggesting that it may be biomechanical in nature. It attacks people by breaking screens and presumably "eating" them. From what we can see in the second episode of TOE titled "love. thumper", there is text at the end of the video saying "the body appeared untouched", suggesting that the Locust must consume the victim in a different way, eating their organs.

When the Locust appears on screen, it is usually in a room with vintage wallpaper. The Locust is hypothetically a child, or tries to appear like one. This can be explained by the way it speaks like a child would. Despite the fact that the Locust is primarily a predatory creature, it pretends to be friendly, even if it writes with incorrect punctuation.

Although a predatory creature, it still displays childlike curiosity and a manner of speech. To attract "prey", the Locust may appear on a television, device, or other form of screen and break out with its long appendages. If the victim hides, the Locust will hunt it down and presumably feed on the victim without actually touching it (seen at the end of love.thumper, where it says "The body appeared untouched"). It is also assumed that the Locust feeds on the organs of its prey.

There is speculation that The Locust created the TOE (The Organate Enterprise) video series. This can be explained by how the titles are written with incorrect punctuation, such as starving.help and love.thumper.
The Locust is the first creature (that, for now, has a real story) to be shown on Doctor Nowhere's YouTube channel.
One of the leading theories is that The Locust is actually a child. This is supported by the description of Doctor Nowhere's "making.friends" video, which states "it's a child in there."
In starving.help, the hand hitting the screen does not belong to the Locust. It may be Dominik's hand.
In fact, we never get to see her legs on screen.

The creature's speech always says that.
