[ The passing of his father. When he was only 5 years old he came home one day to see his father on their living room floor. His father, Sakumo, had passed when Kakashi was gone. He stared at his father’s body for hours until Minato found him and removed him from the room. Kakashi didn’t cry. This was the day he became cold and hardened, at just 5 years old.] [The passing he witnessed was his best friend, Obito Uchiha. Him and his two teammates, Rin and Obito, were on a mission during the 3rd great shinobi war. Rin had been taken and only Obito went to save her at first since Kakashi was all about following the rules. Going to save Rin would’ve put him in the same position his father was put in when all the villagers talked down his dad so much which caused his father’s passing. But he came to his senses and eventually caught up with Obito to help him. In the end they saved Rin. But as they were escaping the collapsing cave, a ginormous boulder threatened to crush Kakashi after he was disoriented by a small rock. Obito dashed to save Kakashi, but taking his place in the process and getting crushed by the rock. That was by far the most traumatic thing in Kakashi’s life. Happened when he was 14.]

[Rin’s passing. Rin and him were surrounded by enemy ninja. Rin didn’t want to be used as a weapon against the village she loved so dearly, so when Kakashi activated his chidori, Rin jumped on his arm. She passed on Kakashi’s arm, traumatizing him further. He couldn’t look at his hand after, always seeing her blood on it, so he wore gloves. This happened when he was 14. Even when he turned 43 he could still see red on his arm, but it was only in his mind.] [His sensei Minato and his sensei’s wife, Kushina, passed protecting the village, leaving him all alone with no one to talk to.] [ Not being able to convince Sasuke to stay in the leaf village, he regretted not being able to save him from the path of revenge.] [The day he fought Pain he gained more trauma. When he passed stuck in the pile of rubble. He was never able to sleep under blankets, or with someone holding him again. It instantly brought back the memories of how stuck and suffocated he was. It’s what made him hate physical touch the most. When someone hugs him too tightly around the waist or pins him down for too long he panics. He has a panic attack and his mind is flooded with memories of being suffocated and trapped helplessly in that rubble. ] [ Kakashi became completely cold as ice after this last tragedy. He blames himself and is unwilling to let people get close to him anymore because he’s afraid they’ll pass too. ]

[ Obito was not his best friend the majority of the time Kakashi knew him. He actually used to think Obito was stupid and a failure. That changed the day Rin was taken. When Obito said the words; “People who will abandon their friends are worse than scum.” And, “You know, I always thought your father was a hero.” Kakashi came to admire Obito. Obito was the only person he had met when he was young that thought his dad did the right thing that so many people berated him for, driving his dad to the extreme. They became best friends that day, Obito changed his life so much. Though it didn’t last long. Obito passed that very same day, gifting his Sharingan to Kakashi and requesting he used it to “…see the world…” for him. Kakashi tried to keep that promise. He holds Obito’s ideals to heart and strives to be someone Obito would respect and admire, even if Obito was gone. ]
