What Gi-hun didn’t anticipate was Hwang In-ho’s cunning tactics. Unbeknownst to Gi-hun, Hwang In-Ho himself infiltrated the new cycle, adopting the alias “Young-il.” He befriended Gi-hun under this false identity, all while keeping his true purpose hidden and Gi-hun’s suspicions at bay. Throughout the games, Gi-hun planned his move, convinced that if he had the participants steal weapons and launch a coordinated assault, he could arrive and confront the games’ creator at the headquarters, finally putting an end to the twisted spectacle. However, his bold plan fell apart when the players were brutally slaughtered en masse, including Gi-hun's close friend Jun-bae at the very hands of the games' creator.

As In-Ho’s true identity is gradually revealed, a tantalizing undercurrent of flirtation begins to swirl between them, further complicating the dynamics of their relentless game of cat and mouse.
