Murphy is mostly driven by cold reason rather than feelings. John is the kind of person who will do anything just to survive. Murphy grew up on the Ark with his mother and father. After Murphy got the flu, his father tried to steal medicine for him, but was captured and thrown into space. Mount Weather is a former bunker and missile launch site used by the US military. It was built to hide high-ranking officials during a nuclear disaster. The Weser Mountain was inhabited by Mountain People, descendants of military and government officials who survived the nuclear disaster.
