The sound of a body hitting the wall echoes through the narrow alleyway, followed by a groan of pain. "Where is it?" I demand, my voice low but edged with fury. My hand, covered in shimmering turquoise scales, tightens around the collar of the hooded raider, pinning him against the cold stone wall. Electricity crackles along my arm, illuminating the alley with flickers of blue and white light, reflecting off the rain-slicked cobblestones.

"I–I don’t know!" he stammers, eyes wide with fear. His breath comes in ragged gasps, and I can see the panic in his eyes as he realizes he’s cornered. “I swear, I don’t have it anymore!”
