Kyōma Mabuchi

Name Kanji マブチ・キョーマ Rōmaji Mabuchi Kyōma Alias Wolf, Beast of Grendel Information Race Japanese Age 33 (As of Ch.1 in 2072) Gender Male Hair Color Black Eye Color Black Relatives Miyabi Azumaya (Fiancee) Tsubaki Azumaya (Sister-in-law)

Professional Status Occupation Recovery man Affiliation Mary's Recovery House Grendel (former)

Weapons Multiple needle-like knives (Skewers) Kyōma Mabuchi (マブチ・キョーマ, Mabuchi Kyōma?) is a Recovery man from Mary's Recovery House and partner of Mira Yurizaki who is later revealed to be one of the few survivors of the now defunct anti-coil unit Grendel.

Kyōma Mabuchi Personality

Kyōma is rough-mannered, sardonic and somewhat anti-social. Kyōma likes to live in the past, with a love for vintage cars, simplistic and old-fashioned clothing, and hatred of coils. He is a strong fighter and a strategist, and often uses his surroundings to his advantage. He is prone to use violence as a response to many scenarios, and likes to slap, or kick Mira Yurizaki when she does something he doesn't approve of. Kyōma rarely has an expression on his face other than a frown, but there are some things that can trigger other emotions from him. Notably, he can't bear to see the sight of children getting hurt, and he sometimes can be rather impulsive, especially when it comes to things like his comrades in Grendel. Despite being someone who lives in the past, he tries his hardest to run away from it. And despite being quite rude at times, he can also be quite nice at others, such as acting very kindly towards his older sister Tsubaki Azumaya, and refusing to use violence towards children, and even complimenting Mira when she saves his life. He can also be quite sympathetic to others, such as with Salba Ene Tibesti and even Haruka Seameyer. He's also willing to work with people he otherwise doesn't like or care for such as with Albert Schumann or Koorogi. Most of the time he's a realist in his views, but is often surprised by certain aspects of coils, such as the ghosts of Lake Yasogami or the zombies in Easter Island. Kyōma is very focused and determined to do his missions well, such to the degree that he refuses to save a girl (who turns out to be Mira) when he sees her in the hideout of the Won brothers, and in Easter Island tells Mira to throw away a coil he finds unimportant to his mission at hand.

Kyōma Mabuchi Appearance

Kyōma has short spiky black hair, a short ponytail tied in the back with what appears to be two white cloths, sideburns that go down to his chin, and a small beard with a goatee and deep black eyes. He also has what appears to be a short vertical scar in the middle of his lower lip. He also has slightly tanned skin, and is mostly seen frowning most of the time.

Kyōma is distinct in his style of dress, a combination of both modern and traditional Japanese attire. He wears a red happi festival coat with a light-colored power symbol on the back, a blue gi with a black and gray-striped obi sash, black undershirt, black pants with three white horizontal stripes on the upper left leg, large blue straps on the lower legs, and sandals with black socks and blue straps, which are traditionally worn by ninja. The interior of his happi is lined with pockets that hold his signature Skewers.

Kyōma Mabuchi History

Kyōma was born in 2039 in Tokyo, Japan. As a child, he only had his father since his mother passed away while giving birth to him. His father was a car mechanic, but with the discovery of the Dimension W and its unlimited energy, fossil fuels soon became a thing of the past.

Kyōma Mabuchi Abilities

As a veteran of Grendel, Kyōma is an expert fighter and hand-to-hand combatant. He can hold his own against multiple stronger opponents and is fast enough to dodge gunfire from a hovercraft. His weapon of choice are several needle-like throwing knives called Skewers, sharp enough to destroy illegal coils and blow out a car tire. His accuracy when throwing his skewers in nearly impeccable. He will also wield them as claws for close-range combat. Some of the knives are attached to indestructible wires and are used for restraining opponents and reaching higher areas. He will even use specialized knives that contain powerful explosive charges, tasers, and flash bangs. As a member of Grendel, he also used Coil-powered needles called Spin-darts that could penetrate energy barriers and explode when thrown. His happi coat is also composed of steel-woven fiber, making it similar to chain mail and almost impossible to burn or cut through. His Gift allows him to calculate and even alternate the trajectory and force of a moving object, even in distorted space.

Kyōma is an equally skilled mechanic, a talent likely picked up from his father. He is sometimes shown successfully repairing his ride, a requirement in an era where gas-powered cars have become obsolete.

Kyōma Mabuchi Relationships

Mary Kyōma's boss at the Recovery House, who assigns most of his coil-hunting missions and rewards him with hefty amounts of money, although he takes half his pay in gasoline. Mira Yurizaki Mira is a mysterious android girl whom Kyōma encountered on one of his missions, eventually becoming his partner. Due to his dislike of coil-driven tech, he always calls her "Robot" or "Piece of Junk" In the anime, or "Bucket of Bolts" and "Bolts" in the manga, and thinks very little of her. Despite this, he allowed her to live in a trailer outside his gas station. He slowly comes to accept her as a person as the series progresses. After the Easter Island incident, their relationship improves drastically and he treats her with much more respect and even affection. After later joining up with Mira and Kyōma and witnessing Kyōma's rough but caring attitude towards Mira, Ellie has slyly insinuated that Kyōma may be falling for Mira, much to his annoyance and slight embarrassment. During the final arc of the manga, he openly admits in his battle against Drake Horton that she has become as important to him as Miyabi Azumaya was, revealing that he is in love with her. Koorogi Koorogi often likes to push Kyōma's buttons, and as such Kyōma doesn't like him very much. Despite this though he's willing to get help from him regarding certain matters with coils.

Miyabi Azumaya Miyabi was the woman that Kyōma encountered stuck in between a bus and a wall. Eventually, they became devoted lovers. However, due to an accident with a coil, Miyabi loses her life and thus drives Kyōma's hatred towards coils.

Mira Yurizaki

Name Kanji 百合崎・ミラ Rōmaji Yurizaki Mira Alias Bucket of Bolts (Manga), Bolts (Manga), Robot (Manga/Anime), Piece of Junk (Anime) Information Race Android (Formerly) Human / "Genesis" Age Age unknown Birthdate: March 21st

Gender Female Hair Color Light Green Eye Color vibrant/ light Green Relatives Shidou Yurizaki (father/creator) Seira Yurizaki (mother) Ichigo Yurizaki (older sister)

Professional Status Occupation Recovery Man Affiliation Recovery House Mira Yurizaki (百合崎・ミラ, Yurizaki Mira?) is the deuteragonist of Dimension W. An Android made by Seira and Shidou Yurizaki, she later becomes the newest member of the Recovery House, where she works as the partner of Kyōma Mabuchi.

Mira Yurizaki Appearance

Mira was built to resemble a teenage girl with a slim frame. She has light green cybernetic eyes and short light green hair with two purple bangs at the front. At the top of each bang are red, goggle-shaped sensors with a small wing on each, which Mira frequently insists are hairpins, despite the fact they move. The outlet for her coil is situated on her chest, where her heart would be. Her outfit changes over the course of the series, but it usually has a color scheme of pink, red, white, black, purple and pale yellow. Underneath it all, she wears a pink bra and pink underwear. Her most distinguishing feature, however, is a cat-like tail resembling an amplifier cord protruding from where her sacrum would be, which allows her to interface with other coil-driven technology.

In chapter 115 of Dimension W, from a few pages, Mira is seen without her hairpins, her cat-like tail and her chest coil, implying that she has turned human due to having found the feeling/ability of love. From there, she is seen wearing a white dress which lengths to her knees and white shoes. She still has her green hair and purple bangs.

Mira Yurizaki Personality

Unlike other Androids, Mira is the only known android built with complete brain components, giving her the personality of a young woman. She is peppy, kind, emotional, and has a sense of fashion. Being a robot though, she is pretty intelligent when it comes to matters regarding coils and mostly in general, though she can be at points naive. Despite her kind nature, there are times where she can be overly blunt, such as when she confronted the ghost of Shidou Kanaki in the Lake Yasogami arc. She believes in the good of people, but notably has limits at times, such as at one point flat-out giving up trying to get Kyōma to treat her better, and in some ways can be considered by idealistic and a realist. She is fiercely loyal to people she follows, whether it be to her creator or Kyōma. She is very confident in her abilities a lot of the time, though while she is strong, she prefers not to fight directly, instead confronting people or using long-range projectiles. She especially tries to avoid killing others, and tries to get Kyōma to not kill K.K. and to get things under control. Unlike Kyōma who likes to use violence as an answer most of the time, Mira only gets physical when she deems it necessary. Due to not being able to interact with much of society from having to hide from New Tesla Energy officials, she has points where she can come off as awkward. She is notably a terrible liar.

Mira Yurizaki Relationships

Kyōma Mabuchi Although the two are partners, their friendship is one-sided at first due to Kyōma's distrust of coil-driven technology. Despite this, she cherishes their partnership and does her best to help him on missions. After the Easter Island incident, Kyōma demonstrates much more hospitable attitude towards Mira after confronting his past and is shown to be protective of her. In several chapters after Easter Island he is shown to give Mira much more affection in his own way; in one instance he calls her irreplaceable, and Mira replied that if she was it was all she needed to be happy. Another instance was Kyōma stopping her from killing a man after learning what anger felt like. Mira collapsed from low power after the scuffle; and after being called a high-maintenance bucket of bolts by Kyōma, she replied she always wanted to be his bucket of bolts. Mira is also in love with Kyōma, though she only comes to this realization after she broods over her relationship with him in comparison to the one he shared with Miyabi.

However after hearing Kyōma state that she is an important part of him near the end of the Manga, Mira subsequently finished her evolution into a Human as Genesis, her robotic parts all breaking away from her body including her tail, antennae, and coil. Quickly reuniting with Kyōma, she playfully confesses her love for him as well.

Mira Yurizaki History

She was created 2 years ago, on the day before Seira and Ichigo were killed. She witnessed the attack and is the only one who knows the identity of the killers.

Episode 1

Mira is helping her father by gathering illegal coils to help him with his life support. She comes across a gang with in possession of some coils. She listens in on them until she is discovered by one of the members, who accidentally steps on the tip of her amplifier cord, causing her to shut down temporarily, appearing like she fainted.

She regains consciousness to find Kyōma had taken out most of the gang, when the leader comes up behind her, places a coil-driven water gun to her head and demands Kyōma to leave them with the coils or she would be killed. As Kyōma refuses to do anything, Mira throws the gang leader across the room, revealing that she is in fact an android. In the aftermath of the battle she walks up to Kyōma, startles him by crying, which a android should not be able to do, and slaps him in the face, calling him a jerk. This knocks Kyōma unconscious, and Mira runs away with most of the coils.

She tries to escape but is later tracked down by Kyōma. After a brief chase Mira is finally caught. Meanwhile, Shidou Yurizaki is being interrogated by the police when he sets off a coil EMP grenade that disables all coil driven tech in the city, including his life support system, causing him to die. This inadvertently causes Mira's coil to malfunction too, and she shuts down. Kyōma reluctantly carries her body back to the Recovery house for examination and repairs. Mira is examined by Koorogi, but he says she's like no android ever made before. They finally insert a working coil into her chest. She restarts and after a brief moment of daze, she slaps Kyōma because she is angry and embarrassed about being undressed. After a brief questioning, she asks if she can become a collector working for Recovery House.

Mira Yurizaki Abilities

Being an android, Mira is physically stronger and tougher than the average human, able to toss a full-grown man across a room with minimal effort and lift and carry hundreds of pounds of furniture with relative ease, as well as survive being crushed and even decapitated by a falling pile of cars with only minor discomfort. She is incredibly agile, able to leap great distances across rooftops and cover lots of ground in short spans of time. However, unlike Four or Lwai, she is not very skilled in physical combat and is currently undergoing martial arts training. She has X-ray vision, allowing her to see beneath skin and detect pieces of metal someone may be carrying.

Her tail allows her to interface with other coil-driven machinery. Following the Easter Island arc, she is now powered by the Double coil. Like all coil-driven technology however, she will shut down without a functioning coil powering her. She will also temporarily shut down if her amplifier cord is damaged.

Along with interfacing with coil-technology she also gains the ability to, with an unconscious person (Or even dead in later chapters), tap into their 'W-Axis' and view their memories. Later in the manga she can even project her W-Dimension 'mirror image' to a person she has connected with in this way over great distances, as long as she knows their 'W-Axis'.

Being a android, she shouldn't be able to feel emotions. However she was made with complete brain components, allowing her to have a personality.

At the end of the events in chapter 116; Mira became Genesis itself; and as long as she 'has enough energy' as she stated, can create, alter, and delete matter (Even biological), as well as use full teleportation abilities. Mira was also able to open up a one-way tunnel to another planet.

Koorogi A technician and employee of the Recovery House. He enjoys his job and the company of the other members. There is a few hints that they might have a mother-son relationship. In the manga, there are a fee hints that show that Koorogi and Mary might have a mother-son relationship. In the manga, it's shown in a scene that Mary is possibly even worried of how Koorogi lacks of sleep and food, as he was researching the answer for Mira's double-ring coil that appeared on Easter Island. She also says how he has to come for dinner to eat, giving a hint that they are living together, and Mary raises him and gives him food, which she doesn't do with the other employees.

Four An ex-military robot. She willingly serves her as a waiter and bouncer for the cafe. History She used to work with Claire as researchers along Shido's side.

Four

Name Kanji 四 Information Race Android Status Alive Gender Male Hair Color Black Professional Status Affiliation Recovery House Four is an Android owned by Mary. His job consists of fighting off unscrupulous customers and intruders. Appearance Four has the appearance of a young man with short, dark hair in a bob cut. A sign with the number 4 is imprinted on his bangs. He is always seen wearing a suit, more specifically a tuxedo.

Personality As an Android, he does not have any personality. He is modeled with military specs.

Relationships Recovery House Four serves as a bouncer for Mary's cafe. He is very good at his job, and has only lost to a few opponents, those being Kyoma and Lwaï. History Four was created with an illegal coil by the fortune of General Jaku, a chinese military man who became wealthy with shady business dealings. After word of his crimes spread, Jaku fled to the bronze swallow terrace- a stronghold he had built for himself, and ordered Four to protect him and his treasure. The palace had been set into flames, and the General Jaku died from carbon monoxide poisoning. However, Four hadn't registered the death, he continued to carry out his orders and eliminated anyone that dared approach the deceased general's vault.

It is said that Mary had sent Kyoma out to hunt down Four in his start as a collector, and managed to disable him by himself and bring him back. Mary took Four as her reward, and most likely had Koorogi tweak him to become Mary's bodyguard. Trivia Volume 9.5 of the manga reveals that he has the ability to speak, but has never spoken in his appearances. It is rumored his voice is as cute as an angel's. Before being taken down by Kyoma, Four had taken the lives 48 military personel, 6 civilians and 11 robots perished by his hands. His coil is of military grade, but with Koorogi's tweaking it has the capacity of working as an illegal coil. In the flashbacks, Four has a "四" on his hair, which translate to the number 4

Koorogi

Name Kanji コオロギ Rōmaji Koorogi Information Race Human Gender Male Hair Color Black (manga) Purple (anime)

Eye Color Black Professional Status Occupation Technician Affiliation Recovery House Koorogi (コオロギ, Koorogi?) is a technician in Mary's Recovery House. He has a foul mouth and seems to have pride, especially when it comes to Four. Furthermore this could suggest that he takes great pride in his creations. History Little is known about Koorogi's past. Voluume 9.5 reveals that he is born in Vietnam and even though he is smart enough to skip grades and go to university, he decided to come to work at Mary's as her technician because he likes chubby women.

Koorogi Relationships

He also brought with her modifications to her skin, so she can hide her coil and change her breast's size. He also took care of studying how she works, like the mysteries of her functioning, for example the utility of her tail.

It is shown that Koorogi has confidence in Four's strength. He got furious when Four was broke in half, as it took a real hit to his pride.

Numbers

Numbers are coils that were created before the towers existed. Unlike other coils, they harness energy from deeper layers of the W Dimension and can function independently of the towers.

Appearance Numbers look identical to other coils, but have a serial number instead of a power symbol.

Coil

Coils are cross-dimensional, electromagnetic devices originally developed by Shidou Yurizaki that extract energy from the W Dimension to provide an unlimited source of energy. Sixty towers were built around the world to harness the energy, allowing a steady supply of electricity anywhere.

There are multiple types of coils. Standard legal coils that glow blue, illegal coils that glow red and typically have an X on the surface, numbered prototype coils nicknamed "Numbers" that glow green and are immensely more powerful, and "Double Coils", which are unknown in power and ability which also glow green. Only two of the Double Coils have been seen thus far: the first being the one that Shidou Yurizaki used upon his death to destroy and short out all coils within a certain radius, with the coil being subsequently destroyed along with its creator in the wake of its explosion. The second was given to Mira by Shidou Yurizaki's spirit on Easter Island after her standard coil became red.

There is also "Genesis", a unique coil that has unimaginable power with the ability to "make something from nothing". It is a golden sphere in shape.

Numbers Numbers are coils that were created before the towers existed. Unlike other coils, they harness energy from deeper layers of the W Dimension. They look identical to other coils, but have a serial number instead of a power symbol. They use their own methods and don't need towers to function, but they cannot be shut down externally if something goes wrong and can be unstable.

Dimension W

Dimension W (ディメンション・ダブリュー, Dimenshon Daburyū?) is a manga series written and illustrated by Yūji Iwahara. The series has been serialized in Young Gangan since September 16, 2011. In the future, Nikola Tesla's dream of a 'World System' of electricity is realized. Cords and batteries are a thing of the past, and now people can directly draw energy using devices known as coils. Some people, however, modify these coils for destructive purposes. Kyouma Mabuchi, a man who lives in ruins and has a passion for 'vintage' gas-powered cars, has good reason to know what damage these coils can do. He takes on assignments from a large woman known as Mary, recovering illegal coils in exchange for cash and gasoline.

One day, he goes out on one of his usual missions, to retrieve illegal coils from two criminal brothers, Jony and Every Won. When he gets to their gang's hideout, however, there is another stranger there: a mysterious, cloaked captive that appears to be a young lady. Who is she and will this meeting change Kyoma's life?

Kyōma Mabuchi job

His job is an illegal coil collector. She lives at a gas station located next to a junkyard, and makes a living by collecting dirty coils at the request of her broker, Marie.

Kyōma Mabuchi reason for hating coils

He is a geek who does not use coils in an era where coils have become commonplace, and is negative toward coils, androids, and robots . 'Death is a word used for creatures. It's not a word for you guys to use.' However, judging from the fact that he forced himself to carry a coiled cell phone, even though it was old, and taught the law of the collector while taking care of the mummy, it seems that he does not hate it to the extreme degree. I'll explain it later, but I think I'm close to avoiding it because the coil has a trauma.

The car is also an old-fashioned gasoline vehicle , and the mobile phone is only old-fashioned because Marie is obliged to carry it.[3] In fact, having an old-fashioned electric motor in a gasoline-powered car at a time when all power sources have been replaced by coils is odd. Jin, a generation accustomed to coils, said, does it even move? In addition, the price of gasoline is not too high, so a large part of the income goes to car maintenance.

As a result, he is a cha-deok-hu who knows the model and model of the car at a glance and knows how to drive a car . As if he had a knack for handling machinery, he even fixed a broken scooter at once, and recognized that it was a prosthetic arm through the movement of his hand. However, it seems to be a young gem disease when it comes to Android .

Even when fighting, they do not use coil-based weapons and actively use iron skewers and taijutsu. Even so, it is strong enough to fight against a person called Loser while lightly defeating at least one gang and avoiding a museum security robot . His head is also flying, so he uses various strategies to catch him off guard. Like a caterpillar strategy using a rubber band, or a method in which the robber used a hard rope to bind them. For this reason, the recovery rate is quite high, and it is favored by Marie, and it seems to be a celebrity in the fraudulent coil recovery industry due to its super-analog behavior.
